Half-assed backgrounds are my favorite. Pfft.It started off as just me wanting to draw his face and have a go at some different lighting affects...and then it became a little more.

I think the simple background and the fact that it sort of hints its night time and he's by a candle and/or fireplace actually worked well for this. I really like this!
