Do you do commissions? This is some really excellent work! Probably the best I have seen so far as far as GW2 fan art goes.

damn you really are an amazing artist. The amount of details in this piece is amazing. next year i might follow a study as a concept artist in the hope of becoming anywhere near this good.
I would love to know how you learned how to make stuff like this, did u just practice on your own or did u follow a study or something?

Thanks, I'm an art student at a state university. That being said, I'm always drawing whenever I get the chance to improve my skills.
I didn't use a study on this - everything done here was from my head. I did a bunch of sketches that were later refined into what you see here.

Something about the pose is uncomfortable to me, but I don't know if that was intentional because I remember you saying you wanted the pose to reflect his sort of 'superior/BAMF' attitude.
However I really like the giant in the background. It really helps set the scale and gives off a good sense of motion for the swing.
But the technique and execution is as amazing as always Charlie! Awesome job

Thanks Death, been a while. Haven't seen you on the boards lately - or anyone else for that matter. What is it about the pose looks uncomfortable to you? I would say he's leaning more towards a superior attitude than just BAMF.
I think if Dixun could say anything, he'd probably be asking if the giant got that axe from his mommy. Or if it came with a matching purse.

I have been ridiculously swamped with school work lately, and as a result I haven't had much time to focus on anything outside of that lately. :/
When looking at it from the perspective you mention (which i can see now) the pose does infact look more correct. I think it was that the legs/back make a rather rigid right angle. So it seemed more like he was sitting in wait (as if on a throne) rather than the aloof stance he actually appears to have on closer analysis.
I think looking at it overall the pose works to show off his superiority, but looking at it in segment swas what threw me off. Maybe a better way to represent what I mean is his upper body looks like he's doing a wall-sit but his lower body looks much more relaxed. However I really think this only occurs when you think of it as him trying to BAMF and for that it would be uncomfortable; trying to play the scenario in my head I can see how this pose would be more realistic with him trying to show superiority.
Im running on low sleep, sorry if that doesn't make a lick of sense. Hopefully once this semester ends I'll have more spare time for... well anything, really. But thats not for another 3 months :/

I've got mixed feelings about the CE. The statue looks cool along with all the other hard copy stuff, but I don't see the value in the temp in-game items. Debating between the other two versions.
