Description Doing a nice brand new series of the 'Word is on Fire' combat classes. All new and improved and bright and shiny.

Info:

As the name suggests, a Summoner's primary special skill is to summon. Mainly they summon other creatures to assist in battle or perform tasks that they cannot. However it is not so simple as just deciding to summon. A creature which is summoned possesses it's own will and will do what they wish while summoned. As such, Summoners will form contracts with those that are intelligent and sapient, dictating the conditions by which the other being may be summoned. For some the conditions are simple, others demand more complex methods of summoning or more 'important' reasons.

A summon can be just about anything or anyone. From a titanic god like being, to a person you might pass on the street, to a swarm of confused bees. They can be living/physical, or ethereal/spiritual in nature. A summoner is also able to summon an eidolon, or internal avatar of a person, which is often far more powerful than the individual it's from; said individual is often unaware of this, however in this case a contract or agreement is an absolute requirement and they can only be summoned with the second and third methods and only for a short time. (see below)

Summoners aren't limited simply to summoning other creatures however; Summoners can 'blink' themselves, individuals, and even objects, to different locations. A fully trained summoner or a powerful novice can even transport themselves or others to different dimensions, rather than only momentary summons.

When a summoner is calling for a creature there are one of three ways they may invoke it. The first is to simply call for them, summons called this way are vulnerable and it is not commonly used, as the general mind set is that calling something to be injured on your behalf is wrong.

The second method involves the summon being invulnerable, the summoner taking on any injuries for them. This method is the most common, and the summon can be sustained for a long or short period of time.

The third method is normally used only for the most powerful of summons. The summoned creature gains invulnerability and the summoner does not take injuries on their behalf, however the summoner is rendered immobile and virtually helpless as all their power is dedicated to the sustaining of the summon and maintaining it's invulnerability.

While summoning, markings will appear on the body of the summoner, often mimicking the style of their circles, the markings are faintly luminous, but not enough to be seen through any clothing that isn't a mesh or very thin.

The mentality needed to perform their skills and techniques leaves nearly all summoners with a unique outlook on the world, such as particular views on death and the like, even able to see things that others cannot. Some choose to become Summoners based on having this ability or mindset from the start.

Summoners do possess some healing skills, though not as powerful as a Healer. However they are the only ones who are able to heal injuries of the 'soul' and mind, and are also the only ones who can break things like curses, or freeing souls bound or entrapped.

'You need not fear, though we may be worlds apart or side by side, you are not alone, I can see you.'

Weapons:

Summoners can wield a wide variety of weapons, though they tend to fair on the light side, short swords, daggers, staves, spears, whips, chains, gauntlets, etc. Some prefer to hide their weapons out of sight, wishing to instill a more calm and peaceful image of themselves. It is also helpful as Summoners do not normally were heavy armor, or any armor at all, preferring to be unreachable instead. Their clothing tends to follow a more tribal, 'modern shaman', or distressed theme, and will usually be adorned with items of significance, either those needed to summon a picky individual, or items of personal value. They may also be items gathered from previous jobs or significant events, many Summoners like to collect them as 'souvenirs' or 'keepsakes'.
