Description
OOC of the iconic Super-Star Destroyer from the original trilogy---------------
One of the seven first Super-class Star Destroyers developed by the Netherworld and Galactic Empires, the Executor was constructed in the Fondor Shipyards in great secrecy while her sister ships - Annihilator, Lusankya, Eclipse, Crimson Valkyrie, Enforcer and Eternal Darkness - were constructed at either Kuat Shipyards or the Netherworld itself.
Built in upmost secrecy, the Executor was orignally intended to be either Grand General Cassio Tagge or Admiral Amise Griff's flagship. But following the Cylo Insurrection, the warship was given to the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who then christens it by executing Tagge.
As the flagship of Death Squadron, the Executor participated in a number of battles until the Battle of Endor. Due to Nobunaga li Britannia's direct command in changing the Order of Battle, the Executor was mistaken for a fellow Super-Star Destroyer, the Aggressor, which arrived with a force of 300 vessels and this mistake proves to be the Executor's salvation.
Grand Admiral Josef Grunger perished along with Aggressor while Admiral Firmus Piett, slightly injured, orders Admiral Rae Sloane to issue the retreat order as the Executor begins to lead the Imperial fleet to the Netherworld as planned.
It was later upgraded to a Super II-class Star Destroyer and Admiral Piett remains in command, a fact since many wonders on what would had happened if the changes hadn't taken place.

From my understanding, Super-Star Destroyers don't due to their huge size.

And here's a surprise.
According to numerous Star Wars source books, the Galactic Empire had constructed close to 30 of these monstrous Star Destroyers though most are in agreement that there maybe more since Palpatine's military was a big spender in creating such monsters.

Simple.
According to the sources, the Empire heavily used industrial worlds and key heavily defended shipyards for the mass construction effort.
Corellia, due to having the largest industrial capacity and shipyards, is able to produce not only 9 Super-Star Destroyers but also 500 regular warships at frightening speed.
Other worlds such as Kuat, Fondor, Mygeeto and Imdaar Prime were put into the same footing though this created friction between the naval leaders and the various Moffs who feel that the task was impossible to accomplish.

Exactly but after Endor, the Super-Star Destroyers became symbols of power and many warlords began to struggle for possession of such a dreadnaught.
Warlord Zsinj, for example, had possession of one and had tried to capture a second one but was foiled by Han Solo and Wedge Antilles's task force.
I mean, even a genocidal alien named Nil Spaar had obtained three Super-Star Destroyers as well as a whole fleet from a secret shipyard in a cluster located near the Deep Core.
When Spaar was defeated, those ships went off to the Imperial Remnant of Gilad Pellaeon yet nobody is certain if there are other super-star destroyers still out there.
