Description
If you hang on for dear life, I will not budge to the assailing seasonsor the fires of the world.
I will stand in the swift floods, so you can climb, stand on my branches.
I will break the gusts that batter your spirit.
And here I will always stay.
I guess remnants of a game I played recently still stick around in my head.
Apo + Chaotica

Great contrast between red and bluish tints. Seems like a tree with its roots on fire. Great Job!!

Thank you, and worry not! The tree will drown it in the waters or winds or whatever all that blue stuff is

Thank you! This color scheme is incredibly enjoyable to work with as it combines two things I love, glowy blue energy and fire XD

Oh, niiiiicely done! If van Gogh had painted the tree in Avatar, I imagine it might look something like this. I love the movement and flow.

Thank you, that's quite the complement The energy and motion really sings, and may have been inspired in part by a game I have been playing recently, or at least music from it XD

Apologies for the delayed response, I was away from my computer for a few days due to an art gallery this weekend ^^
Here's a link to the music in question, which should answer your question about the game too ^^ www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaiJKL…

*le gasp* A life outside of the internet? But seriously, all good!
Ori! Man, this makes sense now. Such a good game and soundtrack.

Yeah it's a really strange thing to visit a life without the internet XD It builds character though, so I recommend it 10/10 especially if you see cool landscapes.
Ori is a good game, and hits many elements of games that I tend to enjoy with wonderful art direction to boot. There are, however, only a few songs I listen to outside of the game.

Love the classic tree shape, dynamic (as is usual), and wild neon colours. One critique may be that it is perhaps a tad too sharp in places; the bottom left in particular.

Hmmm, the antialiasing settings are what I normally use, and I don't think that's really the cause of sharpness. Perhaps the contrast and slightly overexposed brightness is causing that effect?

That seems probable, perhaps we might say sharp contrasts.

I don't remember how long the base itself took to make -- that was something unfinished from a year and a half ago. However, moving from the base to this point took probably around two hours.

Wow! How did you get the colors so sharp? Usually when I have a lot going on in a fractal, the lines get all muddled and blurry.

ChaosFissure In reply to TheMisadventuesofH [2017-10-29 15:22:24 +0000 UTC]
While there's a lot that I may do that contributes to the sharpness, normally it boils down to two things:
1) Strategic use of blur. Too much will make your image blurry, and sometimes finding that balance is tricky.
2) Antialiasing and Supersampling. I render with 3x supersampling, and use custom AA settings in Chaotica to keep details sharp. If you're just using Apophysis, it might be that you aren't using oversampling (you literally need at least 3 oversample). See the chart halfway down Fractal Rendering and Presentation for a better idea of how filter radius/oversampling work together.
