Stylistically, I absolutely love texture, color, and lighting and have made that the basis for the majority of art that I create. Β I always find it an incredible complement to have my work compared with masters like Turner, Van Gogh, or otherwise. Β As a digital artist in a medium that normally is dictated by patterns and visible structure, hearing this tells me that I've been able to break beyond that barrier and define what I've done as something different and unique. Β

I also forgot to mention that I didn't understand at first that this was a fractal, because the patterns and colors aren't obvious and annoying and they are very well melted together ^^

One of my goals with fractals (at least, this style in particular) is to break that concept. Β I'm not saying that there aren't cool structured/recursive fractals (in fact, there are many of them!), but my own experimentation tends to be wildly chaotic and unordered in comparison. Β I find it more freeing and more flexible!
fav.me/d4tfdv2 Is the first fractal I made in any sort of this style (the foundation, so to speak),Β fav.me/d52brpr is probably the craziest pursuit of a "brush strokes" that I've accomplished, at which point I became more interested in texture as a whole rather than just making everything look like traditional art.

My sense of color is directly related to my mood; calmer and happier = more muted tones, more stressed/angry/sad = more vibrant. Β
Color and atmosphere is something that I keep trying to work on, as it's incredibly important, and has lots of ways it can be implemented in abstract work. Β Some fractals lend themselves to having atmospheres easier to shape, and others are downright painful. Β Generally in this "pseudo-painterly"/"textured" style I use, it's easier than in more 'classic'/'mainstream'/'structured' fractals.

Honestly I've never done fractal artwork and the more I look at it, the more curious I am about it. How do you do it? What's the process like? I hope my questions aren't a bother.
