Description
Oil on Canvas. This is from a photo I took a couple summers ago. It is the bridge near Curry Village. I gave the painting to my Dad for Christmas and my brother took a picture of it and e-mailed it to me.Related content

This is so impressionistic, very nice. I like the way you had stoned bridge and the water reflection is very nicely done

Oil painting takes the most skill, I think. I want to do more but my workspace is disrupted with a remodel. Thank you my friend.
ps I've missed you.

Landscapes aren't really my bag but I do like the strokes you used for the trees, they feel almost silky and the way they echo on the mountain and reflection makes a great unifier

mhm!
i agree. i always wanted to hike half dome, but we never went in the summer, when it was open, just during easter break. oh well... i've hiked yosemite falls a few times over the years, which is still okay, i guess.... not as much to see from there tho...

Tuolumne is the best I think. Not as crowded and amazingly beautiful. Great hikes too. Both day hikes and backpacking.

yeah, we were going to do a backpacking trip up the grand canyon of the tuolumne, but got busy with stuff, so ended up not going.

Beautiful, the bridge inparticular is stunning with so much detail in the stonework. The water looks great and I like the colours - they seem so well suited to a place called 'Curry village'

Thank you. You've never been to Yosemite I take it? These bridges are all over the valley.Yosemite is one of the wonders of nature. Its worth going even though the valley is so crowded. Tuolumne gives most people altitude sickness at first but it is much less crowded and in many ways more beautiful than Yosemite Valley.

Nope, haven't been out of the country since a skiing trip 10 years ago, but I'm getting itchy feet so I'll add that to my list of places to go
