Stunning I love the colours and the foreground flames, and the celtic knot border is a lovely touch. The background flames are not quite are powerful as the others but this keeps the figure from being lost in flame.

Yeah, it's touchy. I want the background powerful but I also need it to stay back. Purplegoldfish suggested a contrasting color, like green, in the background to set it off. I'm going to try that. Thank you for your kind comment. I actually think this is my best of the colored pencil series I've been working on.

wow, the colors in this are so beautiful and vibrant! I love the celtic knot border-I don't know how you could have the patience to do that heh. I love the mask design and the fire as well. Great job

hmm, I don't think the background is too light-if it were darker I think the forgeround figure would meld into it. Maybe if you had some more contrast in the background-like add some cooler colors such as blues and greens the foreground figure would stand out a little better.

Hey, I looked at the computer image compared to the drawing and the drawing is SO much better. It seems that the computer likes denser color and doesnt really represent lighter areas well. I think too, that I need a better camera.

ah yeah that happens. I usually fix up the color on my stuff a bit with photoshop if I take a picture.

this is beautiful hon! the only thing that i really noticed is that it seems you got more sloppy with the background then with the rest of the drawing.. the celtic knots on the side look amazing and i think it also goes very well with this!

I hear you, I could polish it up. I left it rough as kind of a statement about fire. How it tears up the fabric of reality. Others have felt there is something off about the background, so I may change it later, I don't know. I've gotten a few faves on it so I'm just not sure.

it is a beautiful drawing!! i was thinking about faving this myself but i felt you were not doing yourself justice with the background so i didnt.. of course i didnt know u had left it that way on purpose either though.. your the artist and its your vision so its up to you wether u do something else with the bg or just leave it the way it is
