I love the wolf, personally. This drawing was my most challenging so far.

This is stunningly beautiful, I'm breathtaken. =] The scene is amazing, and the colours are so real.. you have a lot of skill with coloured pencils.

I really love this, it's so rare to see a colored pencil drawing that rivals a painting for its detail and richness. I love the trees, you really used the grainy texture of pencils to your advantage. What size is the original?

Great colored pencil work - I'm just learning so it's fun to see someone who can do it well - especially on a complex layout like this!

I just let them have thier way. A friend recommended working on smooth bristol board. I tried it and they slide like silk on it. Much easier.

Ohhh, very nice. The amount of detail you have put into the trees and the forest floor really adds a lot to it. Good work!

Yeah, those little details that we think are monotonous when drawing them are often the things that bring a picture to life!

Too true! Ive learned to develop the entire drawing as I go along and not save the background for last.

I dilike drawin them so I usually save them til last, even though I should do them as I go along... to provide the correct contrast if nothing else. In fact, often I leave them out altogether! Yes, floating-characters-r-us

You're welcome. It's good drawing what seems to be a cobweb of trees could bring you peasce of mind Sometimes, I found myself subconsciously choosing complicated subjects, just to see how much patience I have, I guess

How nice that you you will have a studio to paint in. Since I paint in my kitchen nook, only acrylics and watercolors.

Well studio area. I share it with the washing machine/dryer. I get to design the space though. I am very exited because it used to be a mess. It is taking forever to build though cause my husband has to do it between jobs.

HaHaHa, I used to paint in laundry room too, to keep turpentine odor from my living spaces. When I discovered acrylics, kitchen nook is more cozy Great you get to have the studio you designed. I'm really happy for you

wow.....
great detail....
you get definite cookies for that...
however....
heheh, always a however. anyway, done with the praise, it's been given so many times, i'd only be repeating what's already been said.
great job on texturing, you seem to have a little bit of trouble posing though...
if it helps (i know it helps me) try drawing a rough skeleton before drawing the outside, so you can make sure that everything works.
your problems are relatively easy to fix. the front paws on the wolf look reversed, the right paw is brought forward, and the left paw is sent back. it should be easy enough to fix, simply extend the dark fur pattern on the chest partway down the left paw, and then make sure the outline of where the left paw should be isn't cut into by the other paw.
the human has some problems, but they're not as obvious. i'll have to think about them for a while, and as it's getting rather late, i'll have to do that later. don't let me forget k?

I am super critical of my own work. What you said was true but overall, I think the drawing is one of my best and I'm actually kind of proud of it. I've found that since I've been on DA my work has really improved. I will try to accept constructive critisism with more grace in the future, but if you want to know ALL its flaws, just ask me and I'll tell you!

hahaha, no, because your list would include every single flaw in the entire artwork. i just try to look at hte big picture, and what would make it look better on the whole.
and yes, i agree, i think this one is your best picture as far as the details go. really well done.
