Description
His Reydovan Majesty's Ship Absolution, Reydovan Registry Number 187200. Commissioned at Outland Station, Reydovan Prime, November 15, 2673. A design by a friend from one of my forums, who goes by the name Kt'Hyla . He's a modder for the game Star Trek: Klingon Academy, which has only been kept alive by the efforts of the modding community. Before this point, in my roleplaying storylines, Hiigaran ships from Homeworld 2 were used to portray Reydovan ships, and I gave him a basic design idea: the Hiigaran battlecruiser from that game. He changed it around a bit, and also created the rather interesting hull design. It is armed with an array of rail cannon turrets, Sha'kurian multiwarhead missiles, a powerful weapon known as a Necrowave Cannon. There are two storylines involving this particular vessel. The one it was originally built for is set in the late 27th century. It involves the Confederated Alliance, which includes the remnants of the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, and a nomadic race Kt'Hyla created, known as the Akidaa (properly pronounced eye-KEE-dee, though ah-KEE-dah has been used by some), meaning "Mariner". In that storyline, the Reydovan Empire controls about three quarters of the space formerly controlled by the fallen empires, which were destroyed by the Borg in the late 26th century. Earth, Qo'noS and Romulus, the three capitals, are now in Reydovan hands after their atmospheres were cleaned up of the poisons caused by the Borg conquests. Their regime is particularly brutal, and the Confederate Alliance is the only force that opposes the Reydovan Emperor's rule.
Another storyline, three hundred years earlier, involves the Reydovan Empire once again, but instead of being the conquerors, they are the conquered, suffering the genocidal rule of Artimus Devaneaux. The Absolution is the flagship of the resistance movement led by the former Emperor, Kiran Joshmaul, who returned to Starfleet after a century's hiatus. I used the design to replace the original idea I had for the Absolution, which was to use the steamlined, rounded version of the Absolution from Cartoon Network's Toonami, as it was used in another roleplaying story already.
