In the end, it was the last thing Church could do for Allison, the one thing that his biological antecedent could never do: To let her go and let her rest. Although he felt a sense of responsibility towards Carolina, I never stopped thinking that, in the end, he was looking for an opportunity to join her that would not hurt any innocents and maybe even do some good.
