Description
Taken a while back while driving through rural Scotland. I just noticed that everything went a little darker and decided to stop the car. Getting out i noticed this coming towards me. So after a few snaps i heard the crack of thunder and decided that it was time to head back. Sure enough a few minutes later my windscreen wipers on full speed could not handle the sheer amount of water falling, and i was driving at about 2 miles an hour all the way home. Great fun indeed.Related content

yea, this storm will be very strong, i can see this with my mind, there whwre i live storms ar gathering in five to 10 minutes and a they can afford even 11 beauford degrees, even shiny weather can change into a horror in five minutes. and by the way really great shot

ooof - yeha nature is pretty scary sometimes, especially how quickly it can change from good to bad. here in Scotland we can have 4 seasons in one day - sun-rain-snow-fog all in one day - very weird. thankyou my friend for your words and the favourite as well, really appriected.

Ooooh. I like this photo. The farm looks so tiny and helpless against the cumulonimbus onslaught
The rain in the far distance to the right is good. Scenes like this are beautiful from an armchair, mostly because they're so ominous when you're actually out in them. There's nothing quite like being on miles from home on foot, and feeling the first drop of rain against your face. Great Scottish outdoors, eh?

heh..yes you have got to love the tempremental weather here! 4 seasons in one day it truly is. i agree, its definetly an armchair shot as the reality of it was a little daunting. never seen rain like it and the thunder and lightning was about 20 feet over my head. great sense of 'anything could happen' thankyou my friend, very kind of you to send these words my way.

I really like the attention to detail in this shot. The amazing clouds are so full of texture that they're a true pleasure to look at. I love how deep and dark they are, and how well they contrast with the colourful bottom part of the picture. Very well done.
A suggestion.. did you try darkening this a little, to see how the clouds would look? It could work.

thankyou my friend!, very glad that you like it...as for darkening, i think my monitor is very dark compared to other peoples..i really need to adjust my gamma or something...i could try to darken it although i'm not a huge fan of tampering with something too much, i could adjust the curves a touch, make it a little more moody but it would only be for my folders, i made a decision when i first started submitting shots that i would never resubmit unless i have to. It gives me the chance to go back and see how bad i actually was and how much i am improving...if any! thankyou my friend for the lovely comment, i'm away now to open up adobe and see that you are right.

Could be your gamma, yup. Have you tried calibrating your monitor using Adobe Gamma? It comes with photoshop. It'll be in your control panel.
Otherwise, it could be me. It's been a while since I calibrated. hehe.

ahhhh nup havent done that - just the normal gamma in control panel....but everytime i save the settings when i log back on its back to normal and i can't be arsed resetting it evrery time i log on...ho hum....maybe i should just get new eyes.

Oh? It changes back every time?
Sounds to me like you need to use Adoba Gamma. It lets you save a little settings configuration file in case anything goes wrong.. but nothing goes wrong. It saves your settings for the next session.
