Description I wonder how many of us, when we were young really believed that when we left the room our toys got up and started moving around and having fun. Playing games and acting out their purpose then fall back neatly into place just before we came back.
Then the beauty in sheer innocence and belief slowly dissolves and the toys eventually either get binned, lost, sold or placed in boxes or bags in the attic or cellar. Left behind to gather dust as the child grows and continues on thier path. I found these items out in the middle of a wood. The pram hidden in bushes and the doll hanging upsidedown from a mossy tree. Only about three feet apart. Lost. Forgotten. And left behind.

well knowing that road, that awful road to the insane place, my mind can only begin to think of awful things.

yes i've been forgotten, one day while walking around willy lows (lol remember william lows ? ) with my mum i looked up and umm i wasnt holding my mums hand anymore, i freaked out and hid underneath the freezer units untill security came and removed me (took them 15 minutes to get somebody small enough to grab me) then mum came and got me and i got ice cream cause she was a bad mother

aw there is a sadness as well as a sweet factor about this - I still have loads of my toys that I just can't bring myself to throw away, and I still remember the true belief I had that my toys played when I wasn't around - I used to leave sweets out in the hope that they would eat some and give their secret away...

Abandoned yes, but look how beautiful they are!!! Some things thrive on neglect.
Although, I do understand your meaning.
The color though.... Gorgeous.

i definetly agree with you, they are truly beautiful. i felt kind of bad taking them away from the wood but i really had to get them into the light. I tell you that pram looks like it came from the Victorian age...really full of character when you see it up close...shame about all the insects that ran out it when the first flash went off though! i nearly had a heart attack. thankyou once again laura, for the favourite but more so for the presence.

thankyou very much indeed my friend. Glad it made you go "aw"
its funny how universal some things are, instantly you get a mental picture of the bodies actions when you read certain words. like "aw" i imagine a furrowed brow and sad eyes when you type (say) it.
thankyou once again for the words.

Like most of your work this one really made me think... of all the toyes that I have left behind...some broken by time and others by rough playing, younger sisters and the family dog that shewed on the them, some was lost and never found again and most of them simply forgotten...
Great work!

ahh thankyou my good friend for sharing that moment with me. If only we all had kept our toys all packaged and safe, think of how much money we would get from selling them now. But i know for certain that if i never played like i did with my toys i would never have been the guy i am now. Strange that.

akinna In reply to chapterone [2005-01-21 17:59:29 +0000 UTC]

your right once more
no money could ever replace all the memorys and fun I had with my toy...and if all my old toys had been whole and safe in a box I could not tell storys of when my sister had her go with my stufted animals with a sissor...I was not very happy then but now I can look back to that time and place and smile...
I hope you will upload more of your work soon...
