Description
This is just a small low colour GIF, HD version with the animation process here!A very Death Note inspired animation that was months of work!
If you share this I greatly appreciate it and be sure to let me know!
Sorry for the late post, as some may know it was done a week ago.
It was even a lot of work compressing the GIF to just 32 colours to load faster. Feel free to ask questions or give criticism.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind words. The effects were done with inner and outer glow effects. A lot of the shading was done the same way.

Photoshop does have some major missing components commonly used in animation and I may get something like Flash in the future but Photoshop also has some exclusive features compatible with animation and I know how to use it's potential based on other peoples attempts.

im sorta an animator as well but im just a beginner and i dont have any special animating programs i only use gimp ~;v;~

There are animations that are more program then person but nothing you've said needs to limit you. This is my third hand drawn animation (Icon and the 2 in the video) so I'm new to this too and my animation program is the Photoshop video timeline that's hard enough to find other animations let alone guides. Don't let anything stand in the way of your artistic goals.

most of my animations are kinda weird looking because its mostly done pretty lazily because i give up after awhile and gimp has weird problems with layers n stuff that i have to work around

You're welcome.Β I picked up the skills quickly applying my knowledge in related fields to animation. For as much as people say practice makes perfect it's what you learn; sometimes from practice; that helps you progress. It can take more effort then some are willing to give but it doesn't have to with how basic yet awesome some animations are.

thats true... and mostly my problem is i dont sketch things out then line them... i'd just draw them out right then and there
i've just never been able to do things like sketch out characters before lineing them because of the way i learned to draw : /

I like to draw a sort of anatomy stick figure to add the lines onto but that's about it. If you want to go straight into the drawing I would suggest trying tween/key-frame animation.

thats what i wanted to try doing and i was hoping i could get Adobe Flash sometime or at least a knockoff version that way i can transfer frames into the program which has the tweening function c:

Well it sounds like you have researched this and that's a good start. Any paid Adobe product is a big investment and the new payment system isn't to many peoples liking if you want it legitimately. I assume by "transfer frames" you mean the separate parts you want to move.
