I think I remember this scene. Harry is accused of murdering a young practitioner he knew. She was attempting to create a circle to hold the Loup-Garou. I remember this was the book that really made me love Karen for taking the initiative to make her own silver bullets.

The points of the star are *outside* the circle. Read Small Favor, Harry makes a point about it. The points should end *inside* the circle...

Murphy looks like she wants to kill Harry for breaking so many of her handcuffs, perfect picture

Murphy training her gun on Harry? I don't recall that, guess I'll have to go back and re-read.

this is very well done. its a shame that the dresden files only lasted one season. i was hoping for more episodes. now the only place you can view them is on netflix. who knows, maybe if enough people have an outcry for it and want the show back, another station will pick up where the first season left off.

Just yesterday I finished re-reading the entire series, for about the fifth time. Well, it was only my second time through the last one. That last one was hard to read so instead of restarting it immediately upon finishing the first time (which is what I'd ordinarily do), I put it aside for a year.
Anyway, I liked the show, but I discovered it before I knew about the books.
So, contrary to people who had trouble with Murphy having dark hair, in my head while reading the books Murphy had dark hair, Bob and Morgan have the voices of their respective actors, and Morgan was black. Eventually I got over Murphy's hair and Morgan not being black, but his and Bob's voices stayed the same.
As for whether the show will come back, I believe that Jim Butcher recently re-acquired (or is on the verge of re-acquiring) the rights. If he sells them again, I suspect he will be much more careful now.

but the books dont have the same appeal as the show. the series had a kind of "sway" to it yah know..... plus the books dont have the actorsat were used in the series. its not like you can read the line and have those voices memorised by memory in your head. plus its much better to listen to the story play out rather than have colorless words on blank paper. ( not to mention, it might do chicago some good to have a true-blue chicago-style t.v. series back.

I disagree completely. In my opinion, the books have always been and will always be better than the TV series- it might just be because I'm more bookish than most people, but I feel the writing of the show was uninspiring and the actors weren't particularly good. I'm also always annoyed when an adaptation of something changes characters around, and Murphy with dark hair was strange enough- whwen they made Bob some kind of ghost and changed his personality from funny and amusingly dirty-minded to snarky and annoying, I really lost all hope for the show. But you have every right to disagree.
I've always been able to hear voices in my head while reading, and been able to visualize the action, but again, I'm pretty bookish.

The show just wasn't the same. There was none of the appeal that the books had. It was basically another sci fi channel paranormal series with Dresden Files slapped on the cover.

I personally agree. I didn't find the show funny, either, which was what attracted me to the books in the first place.

Whow this comes SO close to how i imagine them in my head... Not like the many artists going after the dreadful television series that had not done the RTFM routine before filming... i love it. But if you feel you need to scrap this and can do even better... it's your work and our joy to watch ^_^

lets see... Harry Dresden present, check. arcane magic symbols scrawled on a solid surface, check. gritty run down urban setting, check. Harry's signature duster, check. downcast and brooding facial disposition of a wizard imprinted on Harry's face, check. Karin Murphy being a royal bitch, hinderance, and all around pain in the ass, double check.
yes, this has everything that we've come to know and adore about the Dresden stories. brilliant work mate, keep up the good work. lol

I REALLY like the way you've captured the contrast in expressions & moods here.... Harry looks so introverted/passive & drawn-in...Murphy so "out-there" & active...it's a great capture of the scene, and the subtle retro feel to the colours really adds to the overall effect..
