Announcer steps up to a podium in front of a massive cloth covered object, behind the mystery object is a gargantuan indoor diving pool, used for testing small submarines."Ladies, Gentleman, and distinguished Investors it is with great honour that I introduce publicly for the first time, the DOCEM."
tarps fall away revealing mech, crowd applauses.
"The Deep Ocean Combat and Exploration Mecha is the result of billions of dollars, years of R&D and the imagination of some of the worlds leading scientist, all this resulting in the epitome of deep ocean technology."
more crowd applauses, champaign glasses tink
"Our test pilot, Sam, will now take her out on the maiden voyage, so you fine people can see exactly what this marvel of science and your money can do.
Scattered chuckles. The mecha lights up with a loud rumble, promptly turns and walks into the pool with barley a splash
"Now our pool doesn't go the 2.4 miles deep that this mechanical wonder can, but I think-ACK!"
announcer is cut off by the mecha immediately resurfacing, splashing the front row sharply dressed of men and women. The mecha's cockpit opens to reveal a sputtering female pilot.
"Guys.. hey guys... there is a hole in this thing."

Lol the fish. Also, what is she wearing? (Those things jutting out of her back and ears) are they adapters for the pilot to connect to the mech, or are they there just to look cool?

I love the concept as well as the illustration. I did notice that the second frame is missing a word. The last line should read "there is [a] hole in this thing." Otherwise, very well done!

I do love how the red hair of the pilot contrasts with the aquas of the mech itself, and the saturation of the water itself is really appealing. Very cool piece of artwork
Interestingly enough, I'm working on some mechs in 3D as well...but I'll probably hit a wall once I get to the torso or so. This is definitely some cool inspiration to keep floating about in my mind during the process!

I hate the design of this thing so much...........mainly because I didn't think of it first, it is BEYOND AWESOME! I could stare at this mech all day. This just might be my favorite from you yet, which is saying something.
