Just got paint tool sai. idk how not to make colors go over the lines inside the hair and dress. I do know you have to make layers and stuff..... ):

You have to put the color on a layer underneath the lineart, and then it will go under.

But I guessed I missed something because the lines inside the dress and hair were..COLORED OVER

I FIGURED IT OUT! You have to use the magic wand tool to select all the lineart (there may be an easier way but this is how I did it) and copy and paste it to a higher layer.

That is epic coloring skills! I would not have the ability to actually color something neither by hand nor by computer... unless it involved an algorithmic or program-based process that made it do the coloring on its own XD.

oh. Well I used the blur to help blend in stuff...and the air brush.
I think you want to know how i don't color out of the lines. First I pick I go to the top of Sai and go to Layer (L) and pick Luminance to transperency (O)
Then I pick a new layer...the icon with the little paper with the bent corner. NOT the one with the pencil on it.
Then I put the new layer UNDER the layer I am drawing/working on...Then on the new layer I used...the "magic wand."
I lowered the color difference and clicked on certain sections I wanted to color. So i picked airbrush and started coloring the sections I wanted to color. It won't go outside anything you didn't pick to color.
Then I went to the icon with the square made of dashes.
I picked scale, didn't do anything, and pressed OK.
then i clicked somewhere out of the part where I just colored And then I can use the magic wand again for another part I want to color, and it won't interfere with the part I've just previously did.
This is only my second digital work and i used a lineart...remember that if you don't have any lines seperating sections from each other you might end up turning the whole entire purple. (The magic wand will turn sections a purple-blue.)
You might also have to turn your work into a "lineart" before you can color it..I'm not sure if you know how to do that...I'm don't even know how to do that either, I just got Paint Tool Sai.
