out of curiosity how heavy do you think a size D top would be?

A size D would probably weigh in about 3.5 to 4 lbs., roughly speaking.

Nope. That's the miracle of aluminum. Tops generally weight between 2 and 3 pounds, unless the girl I make them for is rather well-endowed. *wry smile*

As far as the women I've talked to who wear my work, it feels fine in and out of water. I haven't have any complaints from them to date.

Actually, I need to change that. It was 6 hours for the bikini top and 4 hour for the bikini bottom, for a total of 10 hours. I\'ve been making tops only since then and I didn\'t think when I posted the pictures of the set.

I\'m starting to believe I am, but I\'m fighting it hard. Don\'t want to get a swelled ego over it or I won\'t enjoy the compliments any more. *laughing*
Seriously, the experiment phase of building them took a lot longer, but I\'ve gotten a lot of practice since them.

Thanks. It's the lightning that's deepening her natural skin tone...it was an incredibly lucky set of circumstances that made for such a good shot.

very nice...one day you'll have to give us a tut!
...is that a JPL strap?!?
The colors are great!...I love how they're similar enough to blend, yet almost create chameleon effect, ya know?

Thank you! You can thank my girlfriend for the suggested colors. *grin* I'm a bit confused by your terminology. Call me ignorant, but what do you mean by 'a tut', and what is a JPL strap?

lol...tut=tutorial, sorry
by JPL I meant Jens Pind, see [link] is that what you used for the sides?...oh, durnit! I see now where you said it was HP 3-1...

Hmmm...a tutorial might be fun! I'll seriously consider it when I start my next major project, break the camera out and take lotsa photos for it.
I like the 3-in-1. It's sturdy, simple, graceful and very, very flexible.

Seriously it is awsome and the model wears it stunningly well and what is the underlay i look at the rings to see patteren and noticed that there was something under the chain i am assuming some fabricof some sort.

Thank you! Dani will be thrilled with your compliment. She pulled off a spiffy set of shots, and I was really lucky to have her model the set. I'm hoping I can convince her to come back to Houston for more shoots.
Heh heh...actually, you're gonna find this funny...
You're right about the bottom, she's wearing a thong, but that was primarily to avoid ring-to-sensitive-flesh contact. As for the top, she's not wearing a thing under that. *smile*

That is a great shot! The colours go really well with her skin, and the lighting's good as well. I'd probably remove the background completely though.. And I love the pose, and the softness of her skin!
And of course great job on the chainmail as well!

Pure, unadulterated luck of the light, camera and model. Now that I know how to get that kind of picture again, it won't be a fluke.

I love anodized colors. The dyes soak into the multiple aluminum oxide layers and bond beautifully with the metal. It's my favorite medium and will most likely feautre in most my future pieces, though I have a hankering for making some real armor quality stuff...I've just gotta buy the rings first. *grin*
