My latest commission is already complete!! This one was again for ohstalon06 , who requested to see a two-character tickle torture scene featuring Negi Springfield of Negima!, bound beside Sasami Iwakura, sporting a look more akin to her appearance in Sasami: Magical Girls Club. These two young magic-users seem to have gotten themselves into quite the predicament, with their bare feet at the mercy of two assailants and their feathers! Perhaps Negi was about to establish a magical contract with Sasami before something went wrong and they were captured? There's really no telling what got them into this mess, but magic or not, I don't think there's an easy way out of it!This is a colorful one, isn't it? I gave it the full color treatment in exchange for the commissioner having to wait so long. Looks like that request was the more popular one of all the others... Makes the work take a bit longer, but I'm pulling through! That's another commission down, and only six more left! I can totally do this!

Don't know Negi but everyone knows the adorable little Sasami, and my god she's been mobbed by our community X3 Very nice soft colors here, makes for a warm and cute atmosphere. Clever looking rope ties as well, you've put effort into those. And I have the strangest feeling...I recognise those hands torturing them. Perhaps they're paying the penalty? ;D

A lot of people in the community can spot Sasami almost immediately! But yeeeah, Negi isn't as recognizable a character in media nowadays. The Negima! series from which he hails hasn't really been popular since the mid 2000's. There were some notable instances of tickling happening to multiple girls in the series throughout, but Negi himself stuck with a few people, it seems, and our commissioner was one of them! It was also his idea to see these two in what he described as a "Great Boldini-esque situation". With that said, you can infer yourself just what might be going down

Don't know the characters but it's cute and fun tickle piece. Lovely reactions to the soft stroking of those soft looking feathers. A colourfull one indeed but makes it all the more wonderful to look at. A nice work well done and completed.

I've said quite a lot about this already, but now that it's complete I can truly speak of how much cuteness this is.
When it's not zoomed in the pic looks like inking wouldn't even make a difference. Looking at it up close however the lines have kind of a Kirby's Epic Yarn thing going on.
The sheer detail on the coloring job is kind of mind-blowing considering how much you undersell the quality of a sketch commission.
I had a nagging feeling that something was off about the pic, then I remembered that their toes were tied in the original rough sketch. I've grown to like seeing that (cause of you) but not having them tied is fine too.

Yep, that's my pencil tool at work! Gives it a much more traditional feel, but still keeps things relatively clean. I've become quite the fan of it! And there are so many other possible adjustments I can make to these tools to make them look even nicer... I'm eager to give a few more a shot~ As for the coloring, it's very soft and kinda "blobby" in places. I'm sure if I had to I could polish a piece up with better color than this, but alas, I can't take forever on these commissions! I've already done that!! And yes, the toes were originally tied in the sketch, but the commissioner requested that I remove them and adjust the positioning of the feet accordingly, bringing them tighter together but letting their feet sway freely. As free as they can be in this situation, anyway

I want to express my relief that Sasami reflects your own style way more than theΒ Magical Girls Club version.Β I adore me some Tenchi, and, yeah, that includes Magical Project.Β But that's beside the point!Β Excellent drawing, amico.Β Love how it looks, love how the two magic kids turned out, love their expressions!Β Heck, I'm barely aware of Negi, but if he's half as fun as you make him look, it could be very worth getting to know his show, too.Β Freakin' great.Β

I even told the commissioner that I couldn't make the character look too anime, because it just didn't suit my style. He had requested I draw her eyes larger, and her nose smaller, and I respectfully declined. He was very understanding, though. It worked out well in the end! Thanks a lot for commenting!

If you are to check out Negima, I would recommend checking out the Manga rather than the various anime series. As for Sasami, I think she does represent more of a mix of the various shows that she was in. I chose the Magical Girls Club influence because I feel it was a better fit for Negi as a companion rather than the alien princess version. All the same both characters are cute and thats why I wanted to put them in that situation. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Sadly, I can predict that I just will not have time to invest in any new literature.Β I'm trying desperately to catch up on A Song of Ice and Fire before the next season of Game of Thrones, so that's taking up a lot of time.Β If there's not a good show, then Negi's story might be right out for me.Β And no, I totally get what you mean.Β Yes, the magical girl genre fits with him WAY better than classic Tenchi lore, it's just that that's what I was raised on, and that's why I love Jurai.Β Space elves for the win, and all that.Β But in context of the picture, you made the right choice.Β I love it all the same.Β You picked a perfect artist for it.

Hey I'm a sucker for the classics, Jurai, Space Pirates and the Galaxy Police are all things I remember fondly. And to be fair, there's not a BAD series for Negima if I'm honest...its just, much like Love Hina's animated showing, there's a LOT missing from the original animated series and the one that was made a couple years later has NO bearing on the actual story. But I don't blame you if you don't want to pick it up now, though the series is fully out in the States its not a short read by any means. Still, if you find one of the animated shows, give it a go, it'll at least give you a baseline for the characters.

Well i'm an old hat with anime. I was watching it before it even became mainstream in the US. Thanks to my brother ordering tapes... I saw soo much animated blood before i was 5..
That said though. You deserve the praise. It looks fantastic and you are one of the tickling pioneers. Been around a long time. Given back so much.

It was only as I clicked on this picture that I recalled Sasami had a magical girl spinoff of some sort, giving both her and Negi a connection of sorts.
Definitely an adorable picture to be sure, Sasami in particular, it's nice to see another /mf picture not only from you, but in general really since they seem a rarity of sorts. Which brings me to a question which has just come to mind. In the past you mentioned that while it's not your personal cup of tea, you've no problem drawing /m for a commissioner, does that extend to pure /m or do you like to also have a female in the picture to work with? I know you're still very busy working on those remaining commissions and probably afterwards would like time to yourself. Just that I quite like that rendition of Tai you did recently and so the mind begins to ponder what could be sometime down the road.
Also, I can't help but feel that feathers are for some reason quite fitting here, maybe their innocence as the stereotypical tickle tool.

I didn't know a thing about the newer magical girl series until I got the commission request! I was familiar with Pretty Sammy and that's about it, but Magical Girls Club was a new one! It's been a while since it came out, too!
To answer your question, while /m isn't exactly my thing, I can appreciate it and understand why a lot of people like it. In recent years I've been able to see some of these pieces and mentally put myself into the situation, and dang, it can be pretty fun! Putting a lady in the picture doesn't necessarily make it more "appealing", since in all honesty I'm simply fulfilling a request for the commissioner, who paid me real money to do this in the first place. But that doesn't necessarily mean I won't do purely /m content in the future, perhaps even voluntarily... It may not be as well-received by most, and it wouldn't be a regular thing, but if I get a fun or hot little idea, I just might do something with it! If it gets a little too steamy, I may not be able to share it on deviantART... But you know where to go if I do~

Thanks for answering my question. For me personally it's just that I may find certain characters, whether they be male or female, attractive and thus possibly begin to fantasize about what they may be hiding away in their footwear or what kind of ticklish predicaments they could find themselves in.
At any rate I was just checking since I do like your style and figured I'd just get the facts in case you're ever open again and I've the means and the opportunity to possibly commission something. (Though for myself I think it'll be harder to actually nail down a character and scenario in the first place) Interesting to hear that you may decide to do /m of your own accord in the future, definitely has my curiosity piqued as to who you may end up choosing.
