Some fairly quick sketches done today while with my girlfriend =creatureKILLher . She was kind enough to model for me, in random poses of her choosing. Apparently I was taking a little too long to do a single pose, so she decided to start timing me as a challenge toward completing each sketch a lot faster. Understandable since I NEED to speed up my process, but it wasn't easy to get the hang of.The three-minute sketch of her foot (middle row, leftmost) is completely unaltered from how I initially drew it, but the others I went on and finished up without reference just to make them look more complete. Also I drew a lamp. AGAIN.

I say, I think I like the 3-minute sketch the most. You know, the ONE in this entire group that you didn't touch up afterward!

Very nicely done my friend for speed sketches...maybe next time you could try working from a photo or something and really give it your all so you don't have to make her sit there forever LOL

Oh heck yes. These are nice. Loving those hands in the bottom right, lots of nice shapes there. :3 Maybe next time play with light/shadow too?

She insisted that I draw something still-life, an inanimate object, and we all settled on the lamp in here. It kinda stands out, seeing as it's on its own little stand in the room

Timing you on these was a good decision on her part. You'll find when you finally make it to art school that they do that a lot..and I mean A LOT. Gawd I hated it, half the time I couldn't even recognize what I had sketched after I drew it XD; Granted the five minutes sketches I managed were decent, but the one? I might as well have drawn with my left hand XD They'll probably make you do that too actually, and Gesture and blind contour drawing. Overall some really nice sketches

I understand why she did it, and it was a good idea, but of course when she suddenly says "Alright, you've got three minutes," my immediate reaction was just AW WHAT.

Yeah, Sara actually wrote that time down herself, so while it's upside-down for us, it was right-side up at the time for her

I bet Pison really wants to view this deviation larger, but he sees a lamp in any iteration and is like, "UH-UH! Keep it awaaaaaaay!"
Bottom-left is the best one IMO. Middle-right too. You know you have a very unique way of drawing fingers and hands.

I like the bottom-left a lot, too, but the one directly above it is also pretty nice. I'm surprised she can wedge her foot so comfortably in between her toes like that!! And I'm sure you can tell she's got a bit of "extra space" along the bed of her toes, where it almost looks like she could fit in a sixth toe next to her pinky

Oh, I guess you never heard the Otakon story about a light lamp attacking Pison. He slept on the floor that year and the lamp kept falling over onto him or something as though attacking. I think. I don't recall all the details 'cuz I wasn't there
I'm actually not surprised she can do that with her feet, wedge them like that. I can *shrug* Or just did out of curiosity to see if I could. It's not uncomfortable or anything
