This could be good for collecting sand, too. Brilliant! I've got to try this.

Lol, I tend to put a small layer of cobble or dirt or whatever on the ground one block under where the sand used to be and on top of that one sand, you'll have tons of sand but the landscape will be the same (and filled with mob sounds stalking you if you're too lazy to fill it up completely and don't leave torches)

Yes! I sometimes do that, but most of the time I just go to a desert I'm not planning in making anything in.. I have a lot of revisions, but I'm not sure if I should redo the tutorial. Eh, seems like most people learn their own adaptation of how to do it; like you did

Also, thanks for the comment!

DARN! I was going to include if you had lots of redstone you could make redstone torches instead, but I forgot! Ugh!

At-MsUpload In reply to Cheesedoctor22 [2012-05-25 12:12:51 +0000 UTC]

its working with the normal redstone too, no torches, just dust

This is a great idea...Although, sorry to say I wont be using it. I mean, when I hit a spot with sand or gravel, I place a torch to make the digging go faster. And its weird how many people dont know this trick. I was on a server and had to teach people how to do this...A bunch of kids who didnt know much about MC yet, but still, kinda sad....

Cheesedoctor22 In reply to zera-the-mant [2012-05-22 20:40:24 +0000 UTC]

Just wondering, why won't you be doing it? Or do you just mean you don't need to?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zera-the-mant In reply to Cheesedoctor22 [2012-05-23 11:07:30 +0000 UTC]

just dont need to, but if i ever need alot of sand, ill try this next time instead of making like, 5 iron shovels....
