*WARNING: MAY CONTAIN BAMBI 2 SPOILERS!!*I love Bambi!!! I was inspired to do this pic when near the end of Bambi 2, Bambi falls off the cliff. His father runs up to him and tells him to get up, but Bambi isn't moving. Then he says "A prince does not--" He cuts himself off and realizes Bambi's gone. When I was watching it I thought "Oh my gosh, he was going to say 'A prince does not die'!!! That is so sad!" Well of course Bambi doesn't die, but the Great Prince sheds one tear for his son before he realizes Bambi is alive.
Now about his antlers: I know they are supposed to be brown, but instead I made them grayish. This was to tone down the crazy brownness of the pic... The Great Prince is very brown! Hoho-papa should like that

How sad it is. A prince shouldn't cry, but I don't care. But I'm glad that Bambi's is still alive and begin with is father and start all over again. A new Beginning.

I think he was going to say something like "A prince does not give up so easily" or something like that. Since in the first movie, that was the whole message behind when he told Bambi to get up after he was shot by hunters.

Well, when he said that, he was just upset and worried he was dead. And Bambi IS the young PRINCE.

That's my most favorite scene in the movie. It gets to me every time. And you've portrayed it most beautifully. Wonderful work, sweetie.

thats amazing, but just a note -
i dont think the great prince cuts himself off because he thinks bambi is gone, im pretty sure its because last time he said that bambi came back with 'that's all you care about! not me!'.... he realises its innapropriate to say and instead weeps for his lost son

haha yeah, i found that too, but yours looks like you did it traditionally yeah? well seeing as i had my computer and there's like, 16 million color... XD
it was probably a bit easier for me. But yeah, it was very hard, i still had to mix the colors myself cause i couldnt find the right ones!

I didn't know you hadn't seen it in color. This one took a long time, mostly because I needed to find a reference to color the Great Prince. It is HARD to replicate his colors!!!
