  This is a series of screen shots from Create Space's digital proofer. I used Scribus to reformat the pages so they fit better into my book. I even illustrated some of the pages. The borders you see here do not appear in the actual book. The text is a big deal to me because my first time around publishing my book, the text was tiny and the placement a bit iffy as to where the beginnings of the chapters would show up. With Scibus (this is not an advertisement for Scribus, just an observation) I had more control of where the text went and on what page. I then used the illustrations as a decorative way to fill in blank spaces since Create Space doesn't like a lot of blank areas. So, don't bother to try to read the text in the picture, I'm just showing off the type set.
    I had tried to do what you see here with Word. No matter what I did, something always went very wrong unless I used the normal defaults.  It worked, but it left very large gaps on the top and bottom. I also didn't know how to fix the page numbers so they would start counting only on the first page of the prologue. With Scribus I could do that.  I would have never managed all this without my graphics program for the cover art and inside illustration if it was not for the help I got from a couple of people that I know that gave me the programs and YouTube tutorials. I love YouTube! There are some really neat tutorials on everything I could possibly want to learn. Scribus would have been impossible for me to use without the tutorials.
    Well, this will hopefully be the last time I do another overhaul of my book. I mostly happy with the way it is. This book is now available n Amazon.com for $15.
