Description
This is the very first picture I took in Rome after I got off of the train in the Termini station. Its a plaza that I don't know the name of unfortunetely.

DAY ONE
I arrived in the Leonardo Da Vinci airport at 8:30 on thursday morning May 20th, 2010. I got off the plane, got my bags, placed my luggage in the airport lockers for 6 euros, then got on the 30 min. train ride from the airport to Termini train station at the center of Rome. Then I got off, walked out and across the bus area, bought a map of Rome then walked 1 and a half hours ALL THE WAY to the Vatican! About 3-4 miles one way. Then stayed there for about two hours. I went followed a English tour group into St. Peter's Bassilica, which was beyond belief! and also saw Michealangelo's La Pieta which is a marble sculpture of Mary holding Jesus in her lap after his crucifiction. It was so moving to see it for the first time. Sooo beautiful.

Then after that, walked all the way back to Termini, took a train to the airport, then slept in the freezing cold terminal all night. I must have woke up at least 5 times! It was really cold at night, i wore my shoes, long pants, two shirts, a long sleeved shirt, and a big sweater and then a thin blanket and I was still cold!!!

So now you guys my experience on my first day of Rome, in Italy, in Europe. It was a long day, but so worth it.
