my theory:
Spawned for a long lost technology by signifigantAdvancedAliens so as to insure victory in the coming conflict. Che'ess was created as the last best hope, the final solution, the Enemy would have no defenses against Che'ess and the Coveted Golden Hotdog and blue ribbon in the eating contest would be theres.

Ahhh yes, a good look at the guy that comes about from fallen-fused Ego and Chess... and that does seem like a logical study of his natureas an energy being and the traits that come of it.
