This is my essay ‘In Defence of MMD Transformative Artists- A Justification On Why MMD Renders Should Be Respected as ‘Valid Art’ and the Impossible Pursuit of ‘Original Art’, or its working title: ‘An excuse to talk about the allegory of the Tudor family’.

I have worked on this essay for an incredibly long time, I think it has been six months since conception to publishing. A lot has happened during the writing of this essay, however I feel that I can confidently say that this is my best academic-style work so far. I’ve genuinely worked so hard on it, and I was able to use the research that I learned and applied it to other areas, such as a lecture I gave in July at one of the institutes I work for. I focused entirely on the transformative nature of Cinderella in that lecture, however if it weren’t for this MMD essay, I would not have had the opportunity to share my findings in a real lecture. I leave for uni tomorrow and I can now confidently say that my writing has improved immensely between degrees, like I look at my bachelor's dissertation and think 'Jesus, my MMD essays are so much better written than this'.

The most tragic thing regarding how this essay intercepts with my institution teaching is that I worked for a few days at the University of Cambridge in August, and I was next to Trinity College, where one of Hans Holbein’s copies of his Henry VIII portrait was housed. I thought it was destiny, like I’m finishing this essay and I now have the opportunity to see in real life one of the copies that is integral to this essay, and what happens? THEY DECIDE TO REPLACE THE ROOF OF THE HALL AT THE TIME OF MY VISIT SO I COULDN’T SEE IT. I was genuinely devastated lmaoooo, the staff said they could get me in without paying as I was technically staff, but it was not meant to be. There’s always next year tho hahahaha.
