This is absolutely amazing and id hate to say there is something missing in his anatomy but the legendary Godzilla respiratory system is powered by a lung and gill system he has gills on his neck. Idk if its not supposed to show on an animals muscle structure. But its just something that I want to point out. Its actually very easy to miss. still love the picture though.
Also ive been going through a heck of a journey on the internet trying to find the the name of the external ligament at the back of the jaws that connects the jaws of carnivorous dinosaurs etc. you know the pale or skin-like part that shows when the creature opens it's mouth.

If anything, he's gotten thinner since the Heisei period, and I know; I checked.

See! And they say Godzilla couldn't exist!

ranchboy1 In reply to BurningG-HellOnEarth [2014-05-30 21:42:45 +0000 UTC]

Maybe if it lived only in underwater. Squarecube law would crush any living thing that size under it's own weight though. Plus the environment isn't oxygen rich enough anymore to support creatures of this size sorry. This anatomy is really well done though.

BurningG-HellOnEarth In reply to ranchboy1 [2014-05-30 22:33:34 +0000 UTC]

I've heard the story before a thousand times, I get the gist. Proving that Godzilla couldn't exist is easy, proving he could is what's worth-while doing! We know probably less than 1% of all the knowledge there is to know in the universe, if that. So we can prove the scare-cube law and it's properties to crush flesh at that size under its own weight, so we know that all animals that we have discovered so far require a certain amount of oxygen per volume of organism. Perhaps Godzilla's bones are indeed indestructible, made of a substance we have not discovered on the periodic table, or perhaps even a compound formed between several of the strongest metals. Perhaps all he needs to keep going is a source of radiation, or perhaps he does the opposite of what we do. Perhaps he breaths underwater and then holds his breath in air, and massive air sacs within his chest allow him to hold his breath for several hours. There is an infinity of LOGICAL possibilities and ideas that you could place on Godzilla that COULD prove him possible.

Even the depths of the oceans that cover more than 50% of our planet are nearly completely unknown to us. What lurks under there, only God knows. Remember, nature always finds a way. It's unlikely, but ruling out the possibilities is never a good idea, because sometimes the truth is scarier than fiction!

out of curiosity, these are all real muscles where they would be in his body? because if i do take it next year, i want to show this to a human anatomy teacher

TheAtomicDog In reply to giygas1 [2014-03-22 19:25:59 +0000 UTC]

if you are a student intent upon taking anatomy, then I challenge you to verify all the muscle and muscle-group IDs for yourself. Consider this a self-teaching moment.
Of course, reptiles won't have ALL the same muscles we do, but there is enough here to help you get started.
