Description
About the ideaA long time ago, I asked an artist on deviantart, how she did some type of colouring, and she told me she used a brush pen. I also read about brushpens in a drawing-book, so I decided I wanted on too.
I looked in a lot of shops but I couldn't find them.
This year I started at a new art-school, and one of the first times I was their, together with my parents for some meeting, we went to the city after that, and I found an art shop where they actually sold them.
Long story short, I have a few brushpens these days.
I;m not very good with them yet, atleats not at drawing with them, since I'm used to pencils.
Yet some time ago, I started doodling, and made a tree, and after that one, I made a few other trees. This is the most recent one.
About this drawing
I found out, that with a brush pen, trees are one of the more easy things to draw for me. I don't have to make dificult figures and such, I'm just making wavy lines, and I really enjoy making them.
I worked for hours on this tree, which was really relaxing, it almost worked like a meditation.
This tree is also the first one with leaves, they where also a lot of fun to draw, but you need quite some concentration to keep looking for empty places where you can draw another leave.
But I had a lot of fun drawing this tree ( and the other too )
Right now I'm thinking of drawing a tree with just black ink on a coloured paper, so you get a but a sunset idea.

this is beautiful!! i hate drawing trees myself, but seeing this and reading your description makes it sound like it'd be fun, not to mention incredibly relaxing as you said. But yeah this is amazing, the composition is so nice, and the way you drew the tree is just awesome looking. <333

Aww thank you so much for the compliments.
Honestly I normally don't really like drawing trees myself either, but this kinda something between drawing and painting, it has the preciseness of drawing ( which I'm really fond of myself ) and the and the smoothness and "Making things with one stroke" of paint.
And about the relaxing part, it's good to hear it sounds relaxing to you as well, a lot of drawings require a lot of patience since they are made with colouring pencils, and also with this drawing I got the reactions from my classmates saying: "That must have been a pain to draw so much details" and "I don't get how you can work so long on your drawings without getting frustrated"
It seems like some people see working so long with so much concentration and patience is amazingly difficult and also maybe even a pain, while I find it actually relaxing.

haha yeah i never mind working a long time on a picture, even the most strenuous parts can be relaxing... except mybe for backgrounds, those always kinda stress me out cuz i'm so afraid of messing up. XD but yeah this really is wonderful looking, i don't get tired of looking at it and admiring the lines.

Thank you for the compliment.
It wasn't really a pain actually, drawing those leaves was actually pretty relaxing.

Oh wow, that looks great!
Brush-pens... There is a shop in the centre of Houten (nearby Utrecht) which sells them. I only bought a green one there but they have lots of colours too (though I also have a black one for calligraphy-practice which I bought in Japan).

They didn't have all that much colours in the art shop where I bough them ( Burghout Nijmegen ) maybe I should ask if they can order some other colours for me )

I think they can do that, if their supplier has more colours than the ones they already have in the store? Just ask, I think
If you make any more drawings with the brush pens I like to see them, it looks really pretty. You make me want to try it too (^o^)

I have a few others, but this one was the best so far... maybe I will post some of the others too someday, but not too soon, since I believe my deviations will be a little more special, if I don't post to much of them at the same time.
( I also tried something with silhouettes, I didn't thought it was to difficult to work with just the outlines of a pose )
