Was supposed to be called 'The Soldier, the Princess and the Southern Belle', but it didn't fit. T_T Wanted to muck with some colored shadows and draw some of my old furry faves again. This was the result, and I'm pretty happy with it.My favorite girls from the Sonic the Hedgehog universes, Julie-su the Echinda (first shown in the Archie!Knuckles comic), Princess Sally Acorn, and Bunnie Rabbot (both originally from the SatAM cartoon). All 3 of them are shown in thier current Archie incarnations. I always liked these 3 for thier personalities, they weren't just 'damsel-in-distress' bait, and they gained some depth in the comics; said depth has been sliced in half the last few years, but I digress (and pray to get back to basics)....
Anyways:
The Soldier: Julie-su was a part of an extreme pro-technology group called the Dark Legion, and is a fighter through and through, trained in hand to hand combat and weaponry. Heck, she even socked Knuckles one in her first appearance. Unfortunately, she's become little more than a clingy girlfirend as of late. (which PISSES me of to no end, she's my favorite!!)
The Princess: After years of being more rebel leader than heir to the throne, Sally's been hit with the true nature of her bloodline and what it requires. Going from the head of several operations with the Freedom Fighters to standing on the sidelines as a protected citizen, the transition hasn't been easy for her. Though, she DID get to whack Nack the Weasel in one issue (which made me oh-so-happy!)
The Southern Belle: Ah, Bunnie. The first girl in the Archie comics I saw wield a weapon and kick much tail with it. XD Her design's gone a bit Indiana Jones on us, but her fighting spirit hasn't waned too much at the whims of the writers/artists. A lil' charm and a good butt whuppin' does wonders for my jpy...but NEVER give her a weapon besides her robotic again....
A little side note: I have no beef over the Sonic girls from the games, I just prefer these 3 over Amy, Rouge and Tikal/Cream/whatever that bird-girl from Sonic Riders is called.
Another side note: Bunnie, Julie-su and Sally all belong to Archie/Sega/DiC/whoever else, but the picture is mine. ^^

It's a good drawing.
Though I find it odd that you mention Sally getting to hit Nack the Weasel as if she never did any fighting before.
Which is nonsense since even before that little fight you mentioned, she got to do her fair share of fighting.
I get this was 10+ years ago but still.

ahhh sweet memories...
i liked sally and bunnie a whole helluva lot in that series from so long ago.. *can't remember much* the angst was heavy in that cartoon and i miss it. especially with ditzy characters like amy... i don't HATE her, i just don't like her. and rogue is a lesbian <----- has no relevance but may have elevated her cool factor.
now i'm rambling.... i like this picture; it allows me to reminisce.

The old SatAM cartoon was AMAZING. The voices were all pretty good too... *wonders if she still has the downloaded eps somewhere..*
Amy is...okay. I prefer female characters that do something (Sally was the brains in SatAM, while Amy was mainly damsel bait in the games), and she's kinda scary the way she obsesses over Sonic. >_>; As for Rouge's....preferences, I'm on the fence. I think she just likes whoever can get her jewels. XD;

I find Bunny's clothing to be too dark and it mixes in too well with the background :\ its hard to see. But other then that good to see you drawing the old characters you love sis <3

I love the compisistion of this, and the eyes all are wonderful. All the shadeing is great too

Ah~, another person with Sonic roots! XD Sonic was my first big fandom, ised to draw these 3 alllllll the time (I was always better at drawing the girls than Sonic and Knux).
Bunnie's totally cool, thought so since way back in #39 (even before then she looked cool). Rouge is okay. The character is cool and all, but it bugs me that people hook her up with Knuckles. *doesn't think he'd go for the flirty/shady type*
As for Julie-su, if they EVER have her as a housewife again, I may have to restrain myself. She's a FIGHTER, dammit. *twitches*
Archie Comics don't fail, but they could afford to bring thier grades up a bit.
