A little over a year ago, won my 50k hits contest and requested this as a prize. This is the work that I lost when my hard drive fried 5 months ago - but as you can see, it (and all my other lost data) was rescued!!! I just finished it, so here you go man, I hope you like it!
I don't really have a back story for this, except that something went wrong and poor Sally and Bunnie are struggling to escape Robotropolis. It makes me wonder... where is Sonic......?
I'm pretty happy with how this turned out - I tried to add more details than I usually do. But I'm trying to push myself artistically and would greatly appreciate some critiques.

A mission to Robotropolis is always a dangerous adventure to undertake, and it won't always come out as planned. Most of the time we'll see Sonic and Sally together in an event like that, so it pleases me greatly to see someone besides Sonic taking an active role in an image conveying failure.
The characters themselves are drawn very well and seem to have a pleasant mix of both SatAM style and a bit more proper anatomy sizing. The overall tone of darkness is exceptionally pleasing to the eye considering the nature of the image. The background was blended exceptionally well with the rest of the image that I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell they were stockphotos/brushes unless i read the description. (The exception being the control building - but all us SatAMers know that image!)
The things I noticed were off would be the lighting from the sparks, mud spots and the metallic damage on Bunnies legs. The lighting should probably be more intense due to the darkness around them and the reflective surfaces it's falling upon. Remember that the damage is fairly critical and she's in pain. Make the viewers eyes go to the source of her tears by intensifying the sparks color.
The mud could use a few layers of dried/caked on it to add dimension. I shouldn't really say it's 'wrong', but it would help add more layering to the characters overall foot/boot shape.
The intensity of the texture used for Bunnies damaged metallic leg is distracting - which perhaps may have been your goal since that IS where she's a'hurtin'. I personally feel you'd have been able to do considerably more if you had textured it yourself using your own lines versus a pre-existing one and it would have blended better. Still, the overall result is the same, and poor Bunnies none too happy about it.

If I had the money and knew the right people, I'd totally try to buy the rights to SatAM, just so I could remake it into something epic, dark, and awesome.
It would also totally have music likeΒ this.

The darkish atmosphere is also awesome and fits pretty well into the typically Sonic SatAM series.

Yes, Sonic SatAM was a dark show, maybe even the darkest Sonic show, but at the same time the Sonic show with the most real Love, Emotions, the best Sonic Characters and a very interesting storyline.
Mainly because I love Sally Acorn and I think that Sonally is the best couple in the whole Sonic universe.

Incredible! It warms the cockles of my heart to see Robotropolis as grim dark as it it portrayed here. It's tough to spot any immediate flaws with the picture. The only minor thing I can spot is that the hair seems a little sharp near the top. I might spot more areas of improvement once I stop staring.

I'm blown away by this... almost to the point where I'm speechless. The level of toon and detail is PERFECTLY balanced in this picture and I absolutely love the fact that it makes you feel for them.

I wish I knew enough about art to give a true critique. What I can say, though, is t hat I love it.
Part of me wants to say that it's a shade dark, but honestly I think the darkness helps it to capture the mood.

It is a pretty dark picture - I was hoping it would look good on screens other than my own. In bright light it might be hard to see the details.

While I don't have a membership so I can't submit an official Critique I'ma doin one anyways but I'm keeping it short and simple by listing,
1: Awsome pic, deffinately on the darker side of the fanbase.
2: I love how they look like they been in a battle, however for the detail you did it was missing more messed up hair and clothing. It would have brought out more emotion to the image witch seemed a bit... weaker then it should.
3: The wires coming out of the knee bugs me... for that kind of damage there shouldn't be wires visible in front of the knee... poking out for behind the leg itself would have worked better.
and finaly
4: the arm seems just to clean a cut... it lokes more like it was detached then taken off by an enemy.
And that's my personal SHORT Critique. Otherwise I love the image.

I agree with what you said - I tried and tried to make the hair look messy... and didn't really bother with the clothes, I gotta admit. 
The wires kind of come out of the knee joint - I figured Bunnie strained it so hard the wires split. But again, I see what you mean. I also kind of figured her arm gave out while trying to lift something, or opening a heavy door, so I wasn't really thinking in terms of damage from a Swatbot. But either way it could be a little more... mangled? XD

Owww that looks painful D: Poor guys! I really like how you did this, it's better than any of the comic books I think. Like if there was a Sonic movie or something. The background is really what makes this, even though all the little touches like the sparks on Bunnie's mechanics and Sally's scuffs make me wince. >_<
