Redraw! As suggested by

Original (here [link] ) is at least 10 years old, based on some concept art of an older Julie-su by Sonic comic artist Spaz. His drawing stood out to me at the time because I’ve always preferred the sci-fi elements in Sonic over the fantasy ones. And while I’m not sure this is quite how I would want to see that aspect developed now, I wanted to stay true to my original style and intent of AWESOME LATE-90’S COMIC ART! (cue 90’s Kid? Not quite…). So I tried to make as few changes as possible.

My two biggest goals were 1) fixing the perspective on Sally and Bunnie to match Julie-su’s (originally copied from Spaz, and here just traced from my earlier picture) and 2) altering Bunnie’s pose since I don’t like what I had before.
Some other details I focused on:

-better shading

-making Bunnie’s details match her Archie version rather than SatAM version since this is Archie-inspired (so, purple eye shadow, white muzzle, metal to her waist).

-changing Sally’s arm-mounted blaster to be the controls for the visor (so moving it to her left arm since I assume she’s right-handed) to changing it entirely to be a wrist-mounted Nicole controlling the visor. And I’m going to say Nicole can throw up a force-field shield when needed because…it’s cool and practical?

-emphasize the respective “shooting, strategy, and strength” traits of each of the characters. I’ve always liked the idea of a more muscled Bunnie since she is one of, if not the strongest character in the series, I think it adds to her appeal as a clash between adorable and tough, and I’ve always imagined that her strength was not created by the roboticization process, just enhanced. So I decided to go all out with that since it was what I originally was going for, even if it doesn’t show. And, hey, why not? Julie-su’s got some exaggerated muscle tone on her legs already, thanks to Spaz…

…speaking of “thanks to Spaz,” what’s with Julie-su’s “boobs ‘n butt” pose? Never really noticed before…guess I was distracted by her impractical heels and GIANT PONYTAIL sprouting out of the top of her head. I still think she looks cool like this though.
