Description
Obviously this isn't finished yet, but I couldn't resist posting it cause.... I'm proud! In case you're wondering, she's going to be pointing at a hologram map projection from Nicole. It will probably be a while before I finish this - I have a lot in store but limited time (this pic has been in the works for a month!). I actually kinda really like it as it is!

This pic be mine!

Apart from being a 2D anthropomorphic animal, I think Sally Acorn's beautiful.

Hmm... I kind'a hate to say this, but, well, looking at other pictures you've done, you can do most pretty good, but you don't seem to do Sally pictures well...
I can't explain it that well... She just doesn't look like Sally in most of them. I'd suggest finding some good pictures of her to look at.
This one looks better then others I've seen in your gallery, though, and with more coloring stuff, I can see it looking pretty good. (Her chest still doesn't look right to me, though)
I kind'a wish I knew how you did the coloring. I mean, just this much is pretty easy, but, well, I've been working on this picture from the Spider-Man 3 trailer and I keep having to change things about it and I just can't seem to get the colors smooth in PhotoShop. Any suggestions? I'm really impressed by your shading/highlights.

Say what? I don't seem to do Sally pictures well? This really doesn't look like Sally? Really? ..... Huh. I thought she was my specialty. Sure, she doesn't look just like her original SatAM design, but I guess you'd call it "artistic license." Hardly any fanart pics of her you see on dA look just like her original design. Besides, she's gone through probably 20 different designs in the Archie comics, so who's to say what she really looks like? Nowadays she has more of an anthro style. I've matured her proportions to fit how I ideally envision her. In my opinion, this is the best picture I've ever done of Sally. I'm a huge SatAM fan and I've read almost all the comics, so don't tell me to go look at pictures of her. That's so condescending. At least you're polite though, and a Sally fan.
The coloring here is really basic, but my techniques here wouldn't really apply to modifying an existing picture. To get smooth colors, try using the water tool and blurs (my fave is Gaussian). Or when you're using the paintbrush, choose a fuzzy, blurry brush and put the opacity really low, and go over and over it to blend it well.

I didn't mean it the way it sounded... It's okay for her to look different, but she looks... I don't know. Just something about her seems off, while other characters you've done look really good. I just can't figure out exactly what's wrong, though...

Is it her proportions? I just realized her legs look too short compared to the rest of her body. They looked too long before, so I had shrunk them down. But now her arms and torso look too long.

I'm not sure...
Sometimes when I flip my pictures horizontally, I see things I don't notice before. Maybe if you did that, you can tell for sure if it looks okay or not.

Darn me and getting so behind on my deviantwatch >.<
So this is a peek at this big Sally project you were talkin' about before...nice
This is superb for a flat-colored WIP (and even as a finished product for a lotta people), I very muchly look forward to what you've described with the shading and hologram! Sounds like you've got quite a masterpiece in the works.
You're definately coming along with your techniques and abilities, you've got every right to feel proud
I...never knew of this pen tool...*starts searching his toolbar* I must find and begin tinkering with it! Looks darn good and I hate the way I do lineart in photoshop now >.<
Damnit! I don't think Elements has it
-.-
Well, I wish you nothing but luck and patience with completing this. I know what it feels like to toil on something, and this looks and sounds like a ton of toilage. But I'm sure each day you work on it you're feeling a little more satisfied and motivated by the progress. It's got promise, and I don't have to tell 'ya you've got loads of that yourself
In the meantime, I wait with great expectation to see the final fruits of your labor.

Yeah I hope I can replicate in photoshop the image I have in my head. As my skills have improved, I've gotten better and better at closing that gap!
I know nothing about Elements, but I'll bet it has a tool similar to the pen tool. It's just gotta! Try googling it or something!
Thanks for the praise and encouragement with my art!

It's beatiful! My girlfriend is using the Photoshop's pen tool too. I suggest the Macromedia Free Hand to this job, then export to EPS and place it on Photoshop to colour it. It' easier and better!

You keep getting stronger at portraying personality in your characterizations. This pic is great, I love the far off, deep-in-thought expression in her eyes as she explains whatever it is she is talking about.
