I realized a few uploads ago that I haven't been as consistent with our 'base' sizes as I'd like to be, and of course, the number one question everyone was asking about Kawaii after her introduction was "How tall is she?"So, I decided to do a quick little size comparison to answer these questions and better illustrate the difference.
Character Heights, in order from shortest to tallest:
Chibi: 3' 11"
Kawaii: 5' 3"
Takai: 9' 6"
Also, on the left is Kawaii's cat, Shaia (who stands up like that so often it's as if she just stepped out of a Miyazaki film), and on the right is Takai and I's puppy, Vash.

Well even against a normalish height...her legs are are the height of a person.

Yowza! That is quite a difference. And her braid looks like it could be a serious weapon, with how thick it is!
I would feel so awkward standing next to Takai, as I'd be staring right at her waist. It's interesting to see you take into account how proportions would work out at such extreme heights-- she's ganglier than you and Kawaii, at least looking at her from the side. ^^

Yep, Takai is a small bit lankier than Kawaii and myself, her arms and legs are both a bit longer than average due to her height (actually, her legs are much more than 'a bit' longer 
Her hair could be a weapon, too. She's whapped me with a ponytail once or twice, since when it's not braided, it's at just the right height to smack me in the face. Thank goodness it's shorter when she braids it, I can only getting clocked by her hair when it's braided like this. x_x

You just can't win then, can you? Oh well. I guess you just have to walk beside her. That, or maybe she should put her hair up? I wonder what she'd look like with some sort of up-do.
Generally, what sort of size-range does she try to stay between? Or is there even a cap to how tall she can be?

For her size range, she usually tries to stay between her minimum (which is currently 9'2") and around 16', as she can still move around at that size without too much worry about her surroundings (also, should the need arise, she can still crawl through the front door and go inside).
As far as how big she can get... If there is a cap, we haven't found it yet, and she's grown to some very impressive sizes (I think this one is the current record: [link] )

16' is pretty impressive (and would put me at, like, her knees. Which is better than poor Mukat, who would barely rise to mid-shin at that height!), though I would have to hope you had the foresight to get vaulted ceilings in your place. Or at least have something with an open floorplan and airy ceilings. Daniel Libeskind would probably have a blast designing architecture for giants/giantesses.
I guess an upper cap would be better defined on what would be manageable, not necessarily physically possible-- there would just come a point where the ground would simply not be able to support her mass, and merely standing would cause the earth beneath her to buckle and collapse; walking even remotely close to any sort of structure would break it. Which would surely be terribly upsetting to her, not to mention to you.
Perhaps we could find you guys a cozy little island out in the South Pacific, somewhere? One that's not a radioactive waste, at least. Be a nice vacation spot, and hey, the swimming would be great!

Well, our apartment does have higher ceilings, but they're still just high ceilings for an apartment. Takai can stand up straight at her base height of 9'2" in the main room, but if she goes in the bedrooms or bathrooms, she has to duck (the ceiling returns to 8').
And yes, those are the reasons she tends to avoid getting too big. Of course, if there ever were a deserted island for her to test her limits on, I think she'd be as interested as us to see what they are.

Well, I'll be the first to chip in for said island. Granted, I could only contribute a few dollars to the cause, but you've got to start somewhere. XD There's got to be plenty out there that we could use.

Superb remake of the original height "chart". ^^b
Now we can better appreciate the nuances of the height differences among the three of you (er, I mean five of you), although the fact that you're facing front while the ladies are facing sideways kinda ruins any possible mass comparisons a little.
Maybe some other time. ^.^
Even better to see visual proof that Takai-sama's hair is taller than most average adults even, whereas your ahoge boosts you up some 4 inches.

Well, I thought that having all of us face sideways, while classic for comparisons, kind of made for a dull picture. I would say this for mass comparisons, though: I am not so much 'small' as I am 'short', so if you look at Kawaii's body thickness, mine is similar.
And yes, Takai's hair is loooong. I would be fibbing if I said I hadn't tried to climb up it in the style of Rapunzel once or twice. ^__^

I think someone else noticed Kawaii's inopportune position here. Also, you can see Vash's eye-wink better in the original, it lost most of it's detail when I shrank it to upload.

But for Takai's wardrobe, she does a lot of shopping online. She's always disappointed when she goes to an actual storefront, because "None of the cute clothes come in 'my size'!" So, usually she orders things from the internet, occasionally her mother will make alterations on tops so they'll fit her, and very rarely we'll have some jeans custom-made for her.

speaking of Takai's mom, I can only guess the wear and tear on her mind, having a daughter whose growth spurts were a bit more than other girls her age.
Teen-ness is hard enough just on Normal setting..
But, on the other hand, she may probably able to jobs that anyone else literally cannot do, and be valuable.

Takai's mom is an interesting woman. Takai is very close to her, and they tell each other everything. She's a very 'do it yourself' kind of woman, and she prefers to re-use old stuff rather than buying something new, partially out of concern for the environment, but largely because she sees buying something new as a waste of money. She's very open though, and Takai and her talk probably every other day. ^__^
In a way, Takai's teen years were about as normal as can be. Yes, near the end of them she did begin outgrowing all her clothes, but like I said before, her mom would rather make use of what's available than buy new things. She altered a lot of Takai's current clothes to fit her, and prepared most meals herself as she had always done (she usually prepared big portions so there would be leftovers anyways, so really, despite Takai's increased appetite, there really wasn't any change in the amount of work she had to do as far as feeding her.)

Reminds me of my folks kinda.
We'd get clothes at the secondhand stores, or the cheap stuff at the Big Box places, like Kmart.
I remember my first suit, we got at a secondhand store for $8.00.
I am very glad to hear that Takai and her mom are still very close. 
My folks have been gone about 7 and 5 years now.

That suit sounds pretty interesting though, was it a good suit? I found a suit at a secondhand store... But it was all lime-green corduroy.

nah,it was a three piece grey pinstripe.
I cannot believe that there was a time when that suit was popular, although I suppose that folks will probably say the same thing about now in 2040-2050.
