Thanks, yeah it's so much easier then video post, I tried messing around with video post a few times and hated it. Instead for this I used 'Effects...' in the 'Rendering' drop down menu. I should also note this is in 3ds max 8 so it could be a bit different in newer versions.

Well, I'm used to video post so it's what I normally use for glowing effects xD but since I never tried anything else I can't compare xD
I've seen the effects (even using 3ds max 9, with the "Lens Effects" > "Glow") you talk about but I find them complicated to configure xD that's why I keep using videopost.

theres a cool glow effect in 3ds max that adds it when you render the picture. If you want more detail than that just let me know and I can link you to a tutorial on it.
