Here's the downloadable resources for my Halo Reach Magnum shown here chief-01.deviantart.com/art/Ha… . You are free to use it in any way you wish that doesn't involve claiming it as your own or selling it, and as long as you include a link to my portfolio or this download webpage(which is not a third-party site where it may have been downloaded).I'd appreciate it if you left a comment letting me know what you're going to use it for. Just so I can know what you guys are going to use it for.
EDIT: I finally got around to fixing some long standing issues with the normal maps in this gun. In doing that though, I ended up having to remove the little notch on the left side of the magazine. This was because I didn't want to have to redo all the textures for the magazine, and instead opted to make the left and right sides of it identical.
Also, the quads on the left and right sides of the magazine now have their own separate textures rather than requiring a really large opacity map for the magazine. Upressed normal maps have been included as well.
Finally, a .3ds and .obj have been included for those who cant open .max files

Thanks for sharing. This is a great reference piece. My only issue is that I cannot open it. I have SketchUp and I have Blender, and neither seems to support .max files (though they both support .3ds files). How should I open this file without 3DS Max?
My intent is to get more angles and mechanical details for a layered build using 1/16" mat board. I hope to eventually hone the level of detail to an acceptable balance between pretty and functional, then make a mould and cast each of the pieces separately.
To be clear, I have no intent to make anything for sale pr any kind of profit; I just like having highly-detailed props available to me for play and display.

I'm replacing the deviation with one that includes a magnum.3ds file as well. I need to start doing that by default lol. I'm also going to re-render the normal maps for the texture since I did a stupid when I first made it. I didn't render them with all smoothing groups on, but rather selective ones. This makes breaks in the smoothness that look ugly. I've thought about fixing it, but I've never cared enough to until now for some reason. *shrug*

Cool beans. I will be patient; I've got enough work ahead of me with my alpha of this idea that I can put off the idea of borrowing some of your detail for my beta. I appreciate that you are still so attentive and have plans to update this.

You might want to use the opacity for the magnums located in the diffuse's alpha channel. It's to make the text and yellow strip have parts of it disappear so one the yellow bits and text appear.
