Description
More fun sketches with your bog-standard D&D races, this time, the ladies.I know there's all kinds of arguements about how women are portrayed in gaming and fantasy, but I had to draw the she-orc in a more revealing outfit then the elven maid, because I find dumb stuff like that funny.

Nice drawing, but I have a couple of issues with the half-orc. She actually looks like a full-blooded orc. She doesn't look half human at all. I also don't like her "flip flops". It gives her a somewhat japanese or modern look, which doesn't suit the rest of her design, which is very typical for orcs/half-orcs: european barbarian clothing.
As for the whole discussion about revealing outfits for women in games/fantasy: There is nothing dumb about it. It is an important discussion, and the very fact that it is so heated lately, only reflects how far the world has come in terms of equality and justice. People who don't see this are ignorant and have little/no knowledge about history and social norms.

To be fair, the fact that the orc is the only one in remotely revealing clothing really nicely averts any potential issues about how women are presented. And orcs tend to dress down anyway.

I think the clothing only matters on there culture. For the Half Orc, there culture really admires the physical strength of there bodies so they would show them off. Humans on the other hands have a medieval European culture, so if there not Women of the night, They would wear The clothing this one is wearing. Since not all Fantasy Worlds use a medieval feel for the humans, there clothing styles would differ.

Funny thing is I alwaus made fun of that game. Decided that I couldn't nag it until I tried it. Played it yesterday. Turned out to be a lot of fun.

Nice lineup!
Shame the Half Orc is not standing up straight so we can see how tall and strong she is...

I like that design choice tho. The elf chick isn't some willowy girl there to pose so you can ogle her conveniently, she's there to snipe you from behind a tree.

I am so stealing this idea. And after I do, we start the Monster Manual.

Thanks for labeling them. I have trouble identifying halflings that don't have their hands in my high-cost spell component pouch...

This is the distraction halfling. The one you don't see is robbing you blind

It's really satisfying when you get Craft Wondrous Item combined with Nystul's Magic Aura. If the rogue has no way of knowing it's a magical pouch, the crown only ever thanks you when you turn up another fried halfling thief that killed himself trying to take your Elemental Monolith gems.
(My GMS typically agree that if it's a purely magical trap, using Nystul's Aura to negate the magical aura will fool trapsense.)

The human looks like Sheila from the old dnd cartoon, just with a different colour pallet!

The half orc does it for me. Again a good spread of different archetypes.

Why is it the female elf looks less stuffy than the male?

These are depictions of race/gender, they have nothing to do with character classes.

I stopped caring about how women are portrayed in games and such. It's called fiction and fantasy for a reason.
