for my 2-D design class, I'm not that satisfied with the background, so I might touch that up, as well as the photo.

I think it's always hard to look at your own artwork and not see only flaws. At least, that's how it is for me. 
On an unrelated note, you know the Spongebob episode where Pearl wants to change the name of the Krusty Krab? Just think how epic it would be if this picture popped up when Spongebob screams "THE KILLER KRAB!"

yeah I find that if I look away from it for a while I can look at it without being so conscious about it when I return.
and yes that that would have been killer. and speaking of silly cartoons. I just remember this rather juvenile video that I laugh at sometimes.[link]
