Big stamp is big

To my fellow Christians who may want to get on me about this, I point you to my two other stamps similar to this subject: [link] & [link]

I am straight. I support hetero above anything else. I'll let that out right now.

However, I have made friends over time with many people with different sexual orientations, etc, and one of the things I hate most is when they're bashed.

I've been seeing more and more hate popping up towards gays, lesbians, transvestites, etc, and I'm tired of it. I know I can't necessarily "stop" it, as those are people's opinions, but I can speak up about it.

Why do you hate these people listed in my stamp so much? Why do you think they're evil, twisted, demented, mental, etc? Is it because they merely have different views than you? Different philosophies?

Have you ever thought about how these people feel? I've talked to more than a couple bisexuals, a transvestite, and a couple homosexuals before. They're people, not demons or demented.

And as people, guess what? They have feelings just like you do. Why don't you think about all the hate they have to deal with? All the persecution from people around them? All the rejection?

Tolerance may be growing, but so is radical hatred. It's sickening to see these people being torn down and stepped on for who they are.

So I ask you to think before you start bashing. Think about how things are for them before you spit out your words of hatred. Because, believe it or not, you're hurting a person, whether through the internet or in real life.

I say this as I opened my eyes to these people a couple years ago. If I can open my eyes to them, so can you. So take your blinders off and look at them for who they are as a person, why don't you?

Treat others how you want to be treated, yeah?

-----------

Please remember to be mature in your comments. Any blind bashing will be marked as spam or hidden. A well thought-out and mature opinion, however, is welcome.

-------------------------------------------------

EDIT: To be frank, I'm tired of getting comments from people. Especially people who completely miss the point of the stamp, or find some way to twist my words to satisfy their need to be offended and chastise someone.
The stamps are old. I don't really make stamps anymore. I just keep my rants to myself now. Hell, some of my opinions have softened up too in regards to actually caring about those topics these days.
But yeah, comments are disabled now. Thanks to those who offered some interesting insight on any subjects on my stamps!

Does the point of a stamp often just fly over your head?
Or are you just determined to find a way to twist things to satisfy yourself in making comments like this? It's kinda funny, really.

You know who are evil twisted people? Homophobes.

Not all homophobes are evil twisted people O:
Some legitamately have an issue with gay people - being uncomfortable and uncertain around them. I had a friend like that. She didn't hate homosexuals, she was just uncomfortable around them.

Thank you for making this! There really needs to be more people like you.
One of my best friends is bi, and it's hard to watch people spit in his face because he's different. I've heard accounts of people staring or glaring at him in public. You shouldn't have to hide who you are because some people think it's wrong.
It's not.
Thanks again for your support, and your defense.

To hoping some people stop being so naive.

Thank you! ;u; I don't know what we'd do if there weren't people like you around

It sickens me how people think we're automatically bad folk just because we're different. What ~artsygirl2011 has written has deeply upset me. . . because there is nothing wrong with any of us.

THIS
I am a straight girl, also Christian.
I was raised by my wonderful parents, who told me to treat others the way you want to be treated,
love all, and to live in god's image.
God love all of his kids, and we all sin.
So why is being gay so bad?
And also, in levictus, where it states gay sex is wrong,
it also says that
- tatoos
- wereing clothing of diffrent material
and a whole bunch of stuff TONS of people do is a sin.

It's getting out of hand that you'd all force people into a boycotting war, anyone can see that now. I was indifferent until it starts messing with EVERYONE. I don't know why they don't just get civil unions and be done with it? And personally I think there's something wrong when someone wants to change their genitals (transgenders) or ignore what they're really used for in choosing different lifestyles.

I also find it stupid saying that 'bisexuals do not exist'.
Heck, I think I'm bisexaul(since I ship Yuri more than Yaoi, am a bit feministic, feel attraction towards girls sometimes/strangely, even more when I was a child/ and I even started like-liking a girl once) and I doubt they could prove me wrong.
Nice stamp. I'm glad you're a sane Christian.

Yeah! The haters should watch One Piece and be exposed to the wisdom, friendship, and strength of the okama(japanese word meaning transvestite, cross-dresser, and/or queer) Bentham/Mr. 2 Bon Clay, Emporio Ivankov, and Inazuma.

Though they are all somewhat stereotypical except Inazuma, they are portrayed as strong and loyal people.

I'm a christian, and I'm HORRIFIED that other christian's talk about how evil and twisted all the stuff you listed is. These people carry around signs like "GAY IS SIN" and "GOD HATES FAGS" and other stuff too. How can these people call themselves christians, I don't even know. Whatever happened to "God loves everyone" ??? Isn't the christian religion supposed to be loving and accepting? Christian's are made out to be controlling, selfish, people because of those ones. Live, and let live, jeez.

KaijuKing2463 [2012-01-07 18:19:38 +0000 UTC]

The problem is that the majorit of self proclaimed christians are not true. Most of these kind of people don't even study the bible. We have lost sight of is important. So, first of all yes thoughs people are sinners. But guess what, we are all sinners before God. It doesn't matter hat you did, be it homosexuality, theft, murder, or even just lieing. It is all the same before God and the punisment for sin is DEATH in body and soul. That is why he sent Jesus, to save us from this fate. Thanks to him we can, if we chose to, be saved from the pit. So to all thoughs that read this quit hating on guys, murders, anyone be you are just as much of a sinner in the eyes of God as they are.

I agree. I find it sad that a lot of Christians today have a problem with people like the ones you listed. I'm a Christian, and I don't care if your straight, gay, a cross-dresser, whatever. As long as your a nice person, I'll become friends with you. Some of my favorite anime couples are yaoi couples (guyxguy).

But any type of hate towards others for ridiculous reasons (I don't even like it when someone hates someone else for good reasons...But hey, it's life. What'cha gonna do about it?) just angers me. My mom--who is also a Christian--got angry at me because I watched a show where there was most likely a gay couple in it (Fai and Kurogane from Tsubasa. Yeah technically it isn't "official" but there were WAY too many hints not to be...But that's a debate for another time). My whole family (who is also Christian) got upset at her for it. But yeah, totally agree with this stamp.

Yay for real Christianity and not the psychotic intolerant crap! When are those hypocritical posers claiming to be Christians going to remember that we are supposed to be humble, gracious, compassionate, love the world as Christ did, reach out to people in need, and not judge anyone? When will they see it is not anyone's right or place to judge anyone else because we are all equally guilty in the eyes of God regardless of what we have done, thought, or said? If you think about it, Jesus was practically a hippie, minus the weed.
I have several lesbian and bisexual friends(haven't met any gay guys or transgender people) and while I may not entirely understand or agree with the concept of same-sex love, I wholly support them. I believe the whole "live and let live" thing, provided they aren't harming anyone or breaking laws. I'm not gonna "live and let live" if you just randomly come up and slap me just because hitting people makes you happy.
Two lovely girls I am friends with make the sweetest, most beautiful, most sincere couple I have ever seen in my life. They talk about being old ladies together. They stick together through thick and thin. They're petitioning for a GSA club at the high school. I wish I was still there(I graduated in 2010) just so i could sign that petition and join that club. I see more love between those two young women than I've ever seen between any heterosexual couple in our high school, with the exception of me and my then-boyfriend-now-fiance and a few other couples.

Yeah... no. People are evil, twisted, and demented. If you say that homosexuals et cetera are not these things, you say that they are not people. This isn't to say they're any worse than straights, as much as bigots would like to claim otherwise. (Hand to God, there are idiots out there who claim that gays were responsible for Nazi Germany.) But at the same time, let's not pretend they're any better.

So, sure, let them come out, let them marry, let them have all the same respect and legal protection accorded to heterosexuals. But never forget that they, like anyone else on this god-forsaken rock we call home, would kill you and take your stuff in a heartbeat if they thought they could get away with it.

ChefChase In reply to ChikitaWolf [2011-11-08 00:12:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh really now?

what about their backgrounds? Sure, they wouldn't tell you they were misandrists or misognists. But if they are gay because of past experiences, then you can't deny them being misandrists or misognists. Trust me, there ARE people who do turn gay because of those reasons

I'm gonna assume you've met some crazy ones ^^" I have friends who are merely attracted to the same sex, nothing more. I've also met someone before who had an abusive parent which led to them becoming homosexual, but they're perfectly fine with women. Not a hater at all

I'm sure there are a few who are misandrists or misognists, but not all of them are. That'd be like calling all straight people homophobes.

You can't hide lies from false truths

I question one's sexual orientation if there is a reason behind it. It's usually 90% a psychological thing. Nowadays you can't even tell the bi girls from the straight girls. That gives me every right to question their behavior.

I completely agree. My main irritation is all the extreme-haters calling themselves Christians (and other religions, but this one is the one I here the most about). Jesus's teachings were about love, kindness, and acceptance, weren't they? So... hating on others just for being different and pointing to your religion feels like, ionno, smirching that religion. In fact, I can't think of any religion that actually says in its basic teachings that any of these people are evil. So saying that you hate someone because their orientation or beliefs is against your religion is just...stupid, isn't it?
