Big stamp is big

To my fellow Christians who may want to get on me about this, I point you to my two other stamps similar to this subject: [link] & [link]

I am straight. I support hetero above anything else. I'll let that out right now.

However, I have made friends over time with many people with different sexual orientations, etc, and one of the things I hate most is when they're bashed.

I've been seeing more and more hate popping up towards gays, lesbians, transvestites, etc, and I'm tired of it. I know I can't necessarily "stop" it, as those are people's opinions, but I can speak up about it.

Why do you hate these people listed in my stamp so much? Why do you think they're evil, twisted, demented, mental, etc? Is it because they merely have different views than you? Different philosophies?

Have you ever thought about how these people feel? I've talked to more than a couple bisexuals, a transvestite, and a couple homosexuals before. They're people, not demons or demented.

And as people, guess what? They have feelings just like you do. Why don't you think about all the hate they have to deal with? All the persecution from people around them? All the rejection?

Tolerance may be growing, but so is radical hatred. It's sickening to see these people being torn down and stepped on for who they are.

So I ask you to think before you start bashing. Think about how things are for them before you spit out your words of hatred. Because, believe it or not, you're hurting a person, whether through the internet or in real life.

I say this as I opened my eyes to these people a couple years ago. If I can open my eyes to them, so can you. So take your blinders off and look at them for who they are as a person, why don't you?

Treat others how you want to be treated, yeah?

-----------

Please remember to be mature in your comments. Any blind bashing will be marked as spam or hidden. A well thought-out and mature opinion, however, is welcome.

-------------------------------------------------

EDIT: To be frank, I'm tired of getting comments from people. Especially people who completely miss the point of the stamp, or find some way to twist my words to satisfy their need to be offended and chastise someone.
The stamps are old. I don't really make stamps anymore. I just keep my rants to myself now. Hell, some of my opinions have softened up too in regards to actually caring about those topics these days.
But yeah, comments are disabled now. Thanks to those who offered some interesting insight on any subjects on my stamps!

Also to add to my comment, i was yelled at because I don't support gay rights. I'm sorry but I don't want to. There is too much drama and too much violence between gay and straight people.

(Just before I comment, I apologize if you do not like what I draw.)

I actually found out that some homosexuals are actually pretty kind people. It doesn't make sense to me if people bash them. I mean, I like sushi? Should people bash me over that?

Ah, okay. For a moment there I thought you were accusing me :"D

Nah. I'm still not all that sure on my own position with gays to be quite honest. I don't hate them, but I'm not quite sure of it all. And I have a lot of friends who are gay.. :S

I think people just need to stop accusing the other side of being demons. Then maybe we can partially get along C:

I love you for this <3333333333333

I've myself been in the eyes of hatred, personally. It hurts SO badly when even your in real life friends start to resent you for who you are (that hurt like a stab to the heart to me, besides I went through 8 years of hell; no friends or even acquaintances and being the tender age of 7 going through it too, I'm 17 now). I've been bullied so much in my life I almost self-destructed but my mental scares caused a monster to be born; from being anti-social to not even talking in the first place made an anger build up so badly that I've been diagnosed with EAD(explosive anger disorder) on top of a speech impediment too.

Years later up to now I've tried my best to get out more but the affliction boils in me and I finally have my way of escapism expressing my feelings through drawing and writing. I'm more social online than offline because the pain I've endured.

Yes, this all ties into I'm lesbian and a FtM transgender, but I got to laugh and say "If I were to become a man and still like men but I love women, either way I'm still very much homo, right?"

Yeah, I heard :'D I kept seeing the Harry Potter ones and Ginny Weasely ones but had yet to see a Voldemort one till now xD

"gay" has become an increasingly overused term >3<" Whenever someone calls me "gay", I just do a retort along the lines of "I'd rather be happy than close-minded like you"

Hellocloser In reply to ChikitaWolf [2011-09-08 00:42:16 +0000 UTC]

Hhaha, well I like to be original -shot-

I know, I hate it. The most insulting bit about it is how they think I'm shallow and ignorant and stupid enough to find an insult like 'gay' hurtful. Honestly, it should be seen as a compliment if anything, like someone saying you're strong enough to be yourself despite the hate you may of may not get. LOL, that's a good comeback, I'll have to use it sometime if you don't mind XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChikitaWolf In reply to Hellocloser [2011-09-08 00:54:15 +0000 UTC]

*gives you bandaid*

It really should! I mean, when you think about it, while there's hate being chucked from both sides, homosexuals are really the ones who have it rough. They have to deal with people always looking down on them and everything and then people wonder why there are some POed homosexuals. Seriously, the fact that they can go through that so easily should influence "gay" to become a word of "strength" more than anything :'3

Haha, feel free to xD

This is great. :>
Actually, I'm not really conservative at all, or anything of the sort, but It's kinda cool to know that people are being able to at least find a new perspective. I enjoy looking through the comments and finding that, though I wish they were slightly more lenient (But it's just habit), they're starting to accept all different kinds of people. I may just be less opinionated because I'm still young and have yet to be really exposed to anything too ground-breaking, but I hope that more people try and see things like the people here do.
Thanks >u<

I come from a very conservative background and I've come to the realization that cristianity and hatred do not mix. people who think showing hatred for the LGBTQ cummunity is showing love for christ are missing the essential point of christianity.

I have a fairly open-minded family, but we are surrounded by some rather "strict" baptists ^^"

I think the problem is, they aren't thinking from that other person's point of view. They're so concentrated on showing others their wrongs whereas they aren't realizing that they are wronging is as well. I know I've been guilty of that.

You know what I find funny?

Gay people may make fun of who ever they want (Remember the miss America incident where the girl was just voicing her opinion that she believed marriage was between a man and a woman, and the gay community retaliated in full force), yet when we say that we don't agree with this life style they go "Oh poor us! We're always persecuted!"

Anyways, The only really way we're going to achieve tolerance is by learning to deal with the fact that there are people out there who are going to hate the things that we do.

The day we will finally reach the point of tolerance is when anyone can make a joke about anyone's race, lifestyle, or gender. And everyone will laugh.

Anyways, my two cents, take it or leave it

(Man I jumped to a bunch of different topics in this conversation)

I've never heard of a gay person making fun of straight people (I do remember that incident though). Well, to an extent, they are persecuted ^^"

(I do that all the time )
