Big stamp is big
To my fellow Christians who may want to get on me about this, I point you to my two other stamps similar to this subject: [link] & [link]
I am straight. I support hetero above anything else. I'll let that out right now.
However, I have made friends over time with many people with different sexual orientations, etc, and one of the things I hate most is when they're bashed.
I've been seeing more and more hate popping up towards gays, lesbians, transvestites, etc, and I'm tired of it. I know I can't necessarily "stop" it, as those are people's opinions, but I can speak up about it.
Why do you hate these people listed in my stamp so much? Why do you think they're evil, twisted, demented, mental, etc? Is it because they merely have different views than you? Different philosophies?
Have you ever thought about how these people feel? I've talked to more than a couple bisexuals, a transvestite, and a couple homosexuals before. They're people, not demons or demented.
And as people, guess what? They have feelings just like you do. Why don't you think about all the hate they have to deal with? All the persecution from people around them? All the rejection?
Tolerance may be growing, but so is radical hatred. It's sickening to see these people being torn down and stepped on for who they are.
So I ask you to think before you start bashing. Think about how things are for them before you spit out your words of hatred. Because, believe it or not, you're hurting a person, whether through the internet or in real life.
I say this as I opened my eyes to these people a couple years ago. If I can open my eyes to them, so can you. So take your blinders off and look at them for who they are as a person, why don't you?
Treat others how you want to be treated, yeah?
-----------
Please remember to be mature in your comments. Any blind bashing will be marked as spam or hidden. A well thought-out and mature opinion, however, is welcome.
-------------------------------------------------
EDIT: To be frank, I'm tired of getting comments from people. Especially people who completely miss the point of the stamp, or find some way to twist my words to satisfy their need to be offended and chastise someone.
The stamps are old. I don't really make stamps anymore. I just keep my rants to myself now. Hell, some of my opinions have softened up too in regards to actually caring about those topics these days.
But yeah, comments are disabled now. Thanks to those who offered some interesting insight on any subjects on my stamps!

Oh dear. What also bothers me is that atheists gripe about us trying to "convert" them, yet I've rarely had an atheist come onto my profile that doesn't try to "convert" me to atheism. It's that a bit hypocritical?

Hypocritical indeed xD But didn't ya know? We're crazy people, so we have no right to try and convert them to worship the man in the sky *sarcasm*

Haha, I know! Sometimes it frustrates me, and I'm like "Why don't they understand? Why are they so stubborn?" But I have to remind myself that some people will never change, even if God appeared to them Himself. And that this world's doomed and we can't save all of it.

If I'm not mistaken, that comparison was in the Bible as well, or something similar. I think it was with the rich man and the poor man, the poor man going to heaven and the rich man going to Hell. >3<
Be we can attempt God doesn't want us to give up after all-- and with His help, we can achieve anything

I love this stamp! Even though I'm an atheist, I'll say the I like that Christianity is about love and respect and such, I just hate it when people twist the religion and make it different from what it is.

Well? If God hates homos SOOOOOOOOOOO much, then why did Lady GaGa say "I'm Gay/"??? The Church, particularly the Catholic. Has a long history of making shit up to control us. They just say "God hates Eggs." And THOUSANDS upon thousands will stop eating eggs. It's ridiculous.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ChikitaWolf In reply to Hunterinabox [2011-07-30 16:26:00 +0000 UTC]
Hmm. I think it's mostly because people misinterpret the Bible, or better yet, confuse it's real meaning and/or twist it to meet their own philosophies.
The Catholic Church has definately been a factor in being control-hungry, though today's Catholic Church is much more tolerable and simmered down (my father's a Catholic ).
And then there's just the idiots who believe they know what's right, are always right, and can judge whether others are going to Hell or not. It ticks me off to no end as my Uncle is like that (being a radical Baptist).
I myself (non-denominational) believe we have no right to judge others, especially since we haven't judged ourselves. Who are we to tell someone their going to Hell or to say their sexual orientation is wrong? Especially with all the scientific evidence that points towards that it's MORE than just a physocological thing.
Though, that's just my view xD
That's moronic, stop eating eggs xD Though, I wouldn't be surprised if people did pick up and follow it

Hunterinabox In reply to ChikitaWolf [2011-07-30 16:33:01 +0000 UTC]
Religion can be VERY moronic. But only when people are fanatics. Otherwise it only has like, two holes in it. Don't get me wrong. I am a "Free Christian" meaning I don't worship or waste time in a church unless it's important(I killed someone, I saw someone get raped and did nothing Or Easter). Because in reality. God will know I'm faithful to him with or without me going to church every Sunday.

ChikitaWolf In reply to Hunterinabox [2011-07-30 16:36:18 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, lol
I think the big problem with many religions is "tradition". A big thing in Christianity too. Going to Church has become a "tradition", and people only go because they feel they have to. We're supposed to go, originally, to have a time of Faith with other fellows and to perhaps get closer to God. These days, it's all about checking off the check list of the day . I myself don't enjoy Church all that much. It's all about staying on schedule... Now, not to be racist, but black churches-- I LOVE THEM xD They're always so uplifting in their worship, etc, haha.
Wow, you've experienced some stuff, haven't you? owo"
Exactly

Yeah black churches. Is where the parties at. Like seriously, that's how ALL the churches should be. Music, Inspiring speeches.
Ooooooh yeah. That would be awe-inspiring. Brings tears to my eyes IRL.

Or are just too blinded by the misinterpreted teachings around them
My thing was not understanding these people (this was YEARS back before I finally started seeing things). After talking with them, it's a real eye-opener

Well, changing your opinion is much harder than maintaining one, so good for you^^
I grew up in an very open-minded surrounding, so I guess my own open-mindedness is just the result of the teachings around me as well. (To a certain degree of course^^)

^^ Well, so did Marilyn Manson and Lady Gaga (two quite eccentric cases of course), seems like the education system in Christian schools backfires quite often (from their point of view). If they keep on going we might soon live in a very liberal world

Yeah, lol. I swear, these days it's not people claiming they don't believe in Christianity cuz of science or somethin'. These days it's because they're practically afraid of us x'D (and POed at us as well )

haha I always wondered that too!
they say they hate gay in good part because they can't make children and this is why their union is wrong. but asexual people certainly won't have any children since they don't have sex. HA!

Thankfully, I haven't received much hate.
The worst I've gotten was being called an abomination by two church officials (or whatever, they led the youth groups and whatnot) after I went to them for help about it, because, back then I was actually worried about it.
Then they pulled some passerby into it, and he had the same reaction they did.
But whatever. It was a Southern Baptist church filled with obnoxious people anyways.
The same thing could be applied to straight/homophobic people too, though.
I know a few people who are homophobic, but. They aren't horrible Bible-fucking/ignorant monsters or anything like that. One of my best friends and my own sister are homophobic, and they still treat me the same.
It's just a "to each their own" sort of thing.

Well, that's a way to witness to someone *note the sarcasm*
Oh. Lord. No. I go to a private school that's half used as a Southern Baptist church. They're the definition of radical D: Even I'm afraid of them owo"
Really? Some homophobes, while being homophobes, can still accept some people? I never knew that
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Xenofae In reply to ChikitaWolf [2011-07-30 20:09:38 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, seriously. I haven't been there sense.
And yeah. XD Most homophobic people I know don't like it, but they accept that it's what I am, and they love me regardless.
Most of them aren't the extreme homophobes that we've come to know and love, thankfully.

ChikitaWolf In reply to Xenofae [2011-07-30 22:35:38 +0000 UTC]
That's wonderful xD I never thought about the different levels of homophobia-- or that there were any at all. It's nice to know that they can still be accepting

Xenofae In reply to ChikitaWolf [2011-07-31 01:06:23 +0000 UTC]
It's just different levels of tolerance, I suppose.
Some people know that there's more to me than just my sexuality. C:
Ignorance is the thing that makes alot of people intolerant. I'd have people ask me questions like "Why don't you try to be straight?" and "So, what if you saw a really hot guy?", and it surprises me how uneducated people are on the subject. o n o
I try to let them know that it's no different than being straight or whatever, it just happens to be a female instead of a male.

Yeah...well, there's always a couple of dense people, lol. Kinda reminds me of the kid in my 10th grade class asking where Britain was Or maybe when people were asking my Peruvian friend if she lived in huts back in Peru ._.""
