I just think it's rather funny how some people are so offended about not being respected when they haven't exactly shown respect towards their counterpart either.
If you expect respect from others, respect them in-turn. I've been one to follow that rather than "respect me and I'll respect you", though I guess that could be a different story in regards to comments on my part xD
Sometimes it takes you to make the first step to show respect rather than the other person~

I tend to only use "respect me and I'll respect you" when people have blundered and ruined the amount of trust I have in them. But otherwise I respect and hope to be respected. Often times I'm just brushed off like an old stuffed animal that was only a help once and will never be again.

I'm done taking risks until I can observe people closer and ponder their actions and the rumours about them from my friends...
I'm done trying to trust people I hardly know and I'm done with society. If society's just going to treat me like a toy, what's the point of trying to be in the middle of the floor? I've had spines on myself for a while so I wouldn't be touched so freely like before, but those spikes are too easy for a lot of bad people to pass.
I'm simply done with it, I'm done fighting. ^_^;;; certain risks are for daredevils and the uncaring... I'm neither.
