I was actually hoping to keep their aapearences just as much a mystery to readers a it is to Rover but I have absolutely no self control. I really did have a ball designing them and figuring out exactly where Rover's feature came from.

Yep got his hair from mom, definitely. I had started a family portrait a long time ago, on my computer (may it rest in peace) but I could never get Dad right. Once I gave him Rover's eyes everything just fit.

I actually worked backwards from Rover. I really never intended to design them as I never planned on having them in a story, or at least not seen. But I couldn't help myself but design them.

The minute I saw this I was like, "Ohh, this is nice. X3" But then the next minute after I looked at it, and read the description, I was like, "*GASP* Rover's parents!" XD
And I read the previous comments, and I think you did a wonderful job of taking Rover's characteristics, and actually making his parents look like him (or rather he looks like them since they're his parents XD).
I can definitely see that Rover has his mother's eyes, hair, and nose, but he has more of his father's eye shape and facial shape(I think, since I'm basing this on both memory and your icon XD).
Anyway, this looks amazing, as always with your artworks. X3

I've had them in my head for quite a long time but wasn't sure if I should put them up, as they aren't really in the story and Rover doesn't remember them at all.
You've got the characteristics nailed! And you noticed the nose! I was wondering if anyone would. Of course, Rover's nose is a lot bigger than his mom's but it's still the same shape.

His mother had red hair and green eyes, which was a bit apparent once I realized they were OCs. I think the dad has Rover's ears. I wonder what their story is.
