Description
This is a second part to this story: www.deviantart.com/chill13/art…Eesil stormed out of the Finiss spaceport, her tail whipping furiously behind her and the soul spots an angry purple. She easily slipped through the throngs of tourists, barely seeing them through the thoughts rushing through her head. She turned and skirted around the side of the building, away from the open doors that spewed aliens of all kinds onto the tourist trap. She found a little isolated grove of trees. She stopped, crossed all four arms and waited for her son.
In moments Flyspur trudged into view, his tail dragging the ground, his purple eyes lowered to the sand directly in front of him and all four arms wrapped miserably around himself.
"Don't you care anything about your family at all?"
Flyspur looked up at her with wide eyes and gave a chuff of distress. "W...what? Of course I do, Mother."
"Well, I certainly can't tell. You were going to abandon us all. What kind of Jssfloon abandons their family, Flyspur?"
He dropped his head and his tail curled around one leg. "Not a very good one..." He whimpered.
Eesil paced a few steps, her orange tail flicking wildly. "That's right. Do you realize the social repercussions? Everyone would see us as the family who's child ran away. We would never live it down. Do you understand?"
He shrank even further. "Yes...Mother. I..I didn't think about..."
"Of course not. You completely lose the ability to reason for yourself when you are with that offworlder!"
He wring his lower hands and chuffed again, this time repeatedly, sounding distinctly like crying. "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt anyone."
She stopped pacing and looked down at him. "You were stowing away. That is illegal. This is not the kind of child you are, Flyspur. How did that human convince you to do this horrible thing?"
The boy took in a shaky breath, his spots pulsating in distress. "He...he said...in space no one would care if I was a Third. That...that people would talk to me."
She closed her eyes for a moment and she uncrossed her arms. "I see." She let out a slow breath and her tail stopped it's manic swishing. She moved over to him and took his lower hands in to hers. "My son...You are a Third. And running from it will not change that. I know your life is...difficult. But you have everything you need here. "And...." She squeezed his hands. "You have a duty to this planet and to this family. Sometimes we have to give up our fantasies for what needs to be done." She lowered herself in front of him and brushed his face with an upper hand. "Loyalty...family, my son is more important than anything. You need to remember that. We need you."
His eyes came up to look at her. "You do?"
She smiled at him and bumped her forehead against his. "Of course we do."
"But...Rover says that out there I can have friends."
"Oh, my dear son." She brushed his hair with her fingers. "You don't need friends. You have your family, that's all you should ever need. Okay?"
He nuzzled her a little. "But..."
"Shh." She said gently. "Mother knows best."

She is VERY Mother Gothel. Although, there is a difference. She believes everything she says.

Yikes... I believe Mother Gothel kind-of did too, but I can see the difference -- where Gothel is manipulating what Rapunzel knows, Eesil is treating what she speaks as gospel. >.<

Poor Flyspur! I can see his trouble with the entire Third business. It's almost as if he's a slave. At least she didn't scream at him and it seems she cares about him however she still has the since of duty over love.

Yeah. Pretty much. He doesn't really have many choices in life. The family babysitter/gofer/maid or one of the dangerous jobs no one else wants. There really isn't much left for a Third.
Jssfloon are generally pretty in control of themselves. I think she loves him in her own way, but appearances always come first with her. And she's also EXTREMELY manipulative.

It's just after Rover and Flyspur tried to stow away on an alien ship. The other half was the conversation with Rover and Soorn. This is just what happened to Flyspur during that same time.

Don't worry, there's no magic in the clip. It's from Tangled.

Yeah. She's not completely psychotic and I don't think she would go so far as to try and kill anyone. But she is very emotionally manipulative and uses very similar tactics. Guilt, loyalty, fear....

To a great degree yes. I think in her own selfish way she really does love Flyspur. But not enough. Appearances come first.

He's a scared little guy But he can stand up for t hibgs when he has to. But the problem with his mother is that she really has convinced him that she has his best interest at heart and it would devastate the family if he left. The guilt trip works well on him.

Yep. Flyspur would have been stuck then, knowing that kid needed him. Man, if they had a third, I could imagine there being an "accident" so normal kids could be born.

I could imagine Flyspur sleeping next to the egg thing and guarding it constantly, suspecting that.
Oh man, what if Flyspur realized how bad it would be for the kid and was like, "that's it. I'm taking the kid/egg and leaving."

Yup. (Ovaderma. It means egg skin. But you can just call it an egg)
And the thing about them is there is a fully aware toddler in there by hatching time. So it would have some awareness of the emotions around it.

chill13 In reply to Rebel-Rider [2019-05-16 05:13:41 +0000 UTC]
Heh. For sure! Then they would have a kid on the ship right away.
And be on the run. When it comes to children the Jssfloon will do all out. And while Jtrel wouldn't have been crazy about having a Third she certainly wouldn't want to be seen as an unfit mother. So she would surely blow the trumpet on Flyspur taking him.

Rebel-Rider In reply to chill13 [2019-05-16 05:34:22 +0000 UTC]
Unless she had attempted to murder the kid. Then she might worry that if Flyspur got caught, he’d say why he took the kid.
Oh man. Imagine if as a kid, she told Flyspur that if she had a third, she’d have wanted it to die.

Aw! poor little guy. Yeah, he might feel a little slighted there. Hopefully Flyspur would be able to explain. And as the boy got older he would understand.
For always being near the egg Flyspur could use the 'ai'm the Third so looking after the children is my job' reasoning. "No that's okay, Jtrel. I'll take it. I know you're busy and have many important things to do."
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Rebel-Rider In reply to chill13 [2019-05-16 14:31:53 +0000 UTC]
Especially because in his view, Flyspur's paying attention to the kid because that kid is a third.
I could imagine Jylee being bitter, then getting older and hearing his mother make a remark about wishing she had more kids and putting two and two together.

chill13 In reply to Rebel-Rider [2019-05-16 14:35:32 +0000 UTC]
Which...is kind of true. And actually having that Third kid there might actually be the push for him to go to space, to keep it safe.
Or maybe even almost defending a news story. "It is sad, guess. But really, she's lucky. She gets to have two more births. I wish I could have had more children."

It would be interesting, and in that case, he'd know he could never go home.
Yep. I could see Jylee hearing that, and not thinking too much of it, until he finds out some people purposefully kill thirds, then it might occur to him that was why Flyspur took the kid.

Because of both his family and being afraid of being instantly arrested.
