So the Sceptile is being torture by fire. Huh...
What makes scene kinda weird, in my story Team Purple Moon takes down the Sceptile with the use of vine whip, psyshock and one well place fire spin, leaving him burned all over his body. So seeing him now makes make me feel like he's getting the very worst out of this event. I know what going here is all coincidental and how everyone's story on how their teams capture Sceptile is going to be completely different from what Sundance has originally attended but I can't not look at the last panel of the page and think "man, Donovan must really hate this guy if he ordered a healer treat his burns only threaten him by burning him again".

I'm well aware of your nsfw art and blog on tumblr (frickin' hot stuff by the way. ewe) But I think mixing in S&M themes with the warden just gives him that kinda goofy sense that the dude has a little too much fun with his job. I think you made the warden look like a special kind of weird but without making it unbelievable. uvu 11 out of 10 in my opinion. 10 of the points for your fantastic art and ingenious ideas, and that extra 1 cause c'mon, it is kinda hot. xP

I hope no one minds if I put forward a few thoughts about this page, seeing how heavily it's been discussed in the comments!
I ultimately did not find this page to be very sinister - the last panel wound up beeing too goofy from my point of view to be taken too seriously. I must admit however, that I'd be lying if I said that the notion of sexual themes didn't cross my mind as I progressed through this page. The main trigger for that reaction was Donovan's presentation with his outfit and whip, which admittingly made my mind linger on the thematics of S&M briefly. My stream of thoughts throughout this comic was pretty much this:
"Looks like Don's getting suited up!"
"...with leather straps and a whip in a dark dungeon environment. Kinky."
"...PFFT! Ha! It's an upside-down Christmas Greninja! He seems mildly perturbed with his predicament! Oh suck it up Sceptile, it's just a small flame, nothing major!"
After reading some of Sundance's responses, I get the feeling that this is mostly what he was going for, minus any sexual connotations. He built up the gravity of a torture chamber scene before watering it down by ultimately having the "victims" being in annoyed discomfort in the long run. It's sort of a thematic joke that breaks the trope that everyone's expecting to see. And it worked on me for the most part.
In an effort to make my criticism constructive, I'd like to put forward post-comic suggestion (I'm not asking for any changes to be made, just offering a "could have been" scenario). Sundance mentioned that he was playing off of Heliolisk's tendency to resemble a medieval executioner to build the joke, which is clever, but I didn't get that right away. To help make this connection, maybe Don could have put on something like a leather apron with a tool belt built into it instead of what he's wearing here. Maybe something like this. That way it would help alleviate any sexual tendencies this page may have (in my opinion), and would also help support a statement Don makes on the following page. It would just be a marginally better fit, in my humble opinion.
Anyway, that's just my two cents. Regardless of what I said here, your art is fantastic, like always! I do really like how you constructed the dungeon background in the 3rd panel!

I definitely intended it to be suggestive. The way you experienced it was pretty much exactly how I expected it to be read. It was supposed to come across as uncomfortable initially, and then when you see the condition the two ninjas are in it reveals itself to just be a silly case of Donovan getting a bit too into his work.
I just don't feel like it warrants a mature tag though. There's nothing actively sexual going on and it's certainly not violent.

I guess I was your perfect audience, eh? I agree that no mature tag should be necessary for this page, as nothing explicit is depicted within. The main problem you might (and to a certain extent, have) run into is the reactions from your fanbase when they think you're implying sexual content when using pokemon as the medium. Know that I'm one of the probable many that gets uncomfortable when that kind of adult material is used with pokemon, but I didn't get a negative reaction from this entry. Everyone is different though, and some may not take suggestive material as a joke. Your mileage may vary, as they say. For example, I can understand the opinion that the image of the Sceptile may not appear comical, though I myself did not view it as such.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you don't need to defend your work in this scenario, but you shouldn't be surprised if you get some amount of volatile reaction from your viewers, even when using soft suggestion for comedy.
