Only those with a dirty mind would find this inappropriate, so whoever is going on ahead to say this page is 'brave' is kinda childish themselves. I asked my little brother what was going on in this picture and he told me 'The guy is getting cooked. Looks silent hill to me' mind you, he's 11.

Well in his defence hes 11. When I was 11 My sexual knowledge was nonexistant, so of course he would see two pokemon getting cooked while we see more. Ren and stimpy when it aired on nickelodeon was EXTREMELY vulgar like most 90s cartoons, bit since we Were kids they flew right over out headsr . My sexual knowledge was existent since 2nd Grade. And no, I'm not a crazy pervert or I walked in on my parents having sex or something like that. It's called-- t.v shows. I understand, though the comments below for as far as Im concerned is saying that the younger audience in the group will look at this as sexual or something of the like and my brother does know of more sexual things in life unlike you a the age of 11, he does know where babies come from and the likes and even as much as to understand if I describe bondage to him though since his mind isn't dirty, the first thing he thought of was torture. So if they are aiming to protect the 'innocence' of those in a group that's suited for younger ones, then if my brother didn't see it as sexual unless I said 'Hey, does this look like bondage' then I doubt any of the younger ones in the group would.
Though seeing the people who are commenting about it being sexual or inappropriate are probably above the age of 11, of course they'd see that.
And likewise to me, I caught the air of bondage but even at the age I am, I don't see it as something 'overdone' and why? Because it's either really immature to point out or just so little to make a big deal about.
Long story short, people need to fuck off and let the artist be. It isn't a big deal and just being an admin/mod doesn't mean you're right for those that are pointing that out.

honestly people need to calm down a bit, this isn't necessarily dark at all. I mean, ive seen cartoon characters do more suggestive things than this. Not to mention shit like this happened all the time in pmd-e and nobody got their panties in a twist about that. The only way someone could see this as bad is if they are looking for it tbh.

Oh dear, it seems this story is becoming so, SO much darker/serious than I originally thought. And I was expecting some serious stuff at that point.
Unless you just have a wierd sense of humour.Β
I also agree with StarLynxWish, this is quite a brave attempt, even if it looks interesting. I recommend using a mature content warning of some sort, if you plan on doing these. There are quite a lot of younger people in this as well, and I think something like this will make even them flinch with the uncomfortable feelings, if they get it. Of course, there might be something deeper in this what makes this actually a good sight to see, but I don't know how.
I would've actually loved this if this were in somewhere else. And perhaps even laughed at it.
Also I am quite curious on that Regigigas thing on the 2nd panel. And especially after this, I hope nothing bad will be done on the Riolu. And maybe, MAYBE this might become something lighter. Maybe someone will rescue them? Maybe this is a joke of sorts to someone? Maybe the Heliolisk is just the only one that is evil, even if that doesn't seem to be the case right now.
Might just be mainly me looking at things that aren't supposed to be here though. But I certainly can't say this is a bad one and I won't assume anything what could happen.

i love this. The way they're set up is comical andΒ just seeing how the heliolisk sets up adds to it.... it's not even that dark... it'sΒ a prison.. what do you expect? A tickle tea-party? Normally I would keep my mouth shut but I find myself to be very disappointed and so I feel I have to say something. Here I was hoping for a good story and I get this? This page is unacceptable, especially since it seems to be carrying implications that are causing me no small measure of discomfort, and also because there is, no doubt, a younger audience in this group. I hope that you'll have more tact in the future.

The implications are still there. I can completely understand, but I would still appreciate it if you showed a mild amount more consideration to the fact that it DOES make some people uncomfortable. The first thing that came to my mind was NOT that it was "obviously done tongue in cheek", because if it was obvious, then wouldn't I have made the connection that it was obviously done tongue in cheek? Of course! But that was not the case. Whether it is obvious or not depends greatly on the person, and I am personally not someone who always GETS tongue in cheek humor. I'll keep in mind that this particular page was not meant to have other implications, and that the pages to follow will probably contain the same humor, thanks for taking the time to explain.

Fair enough. But here, let me explain the joke for you a little bit - I've always felt that Heliolisk as a Pokemon, by design, looked a lot like it had a sort of medieval executioners/warden's hood on due to its colouring. That was the main decision to make Donovan a prison warden, though those hoods (and often dungeon masters) are also associated with bondage practices.
The point here was to make people draw a 'worst case' conclusion by putting these things together, until you see the last page and realize that he's only been subjecting them to very silly punishments involving exposing them to their super effective element overnight, like the Sceptile being suspended over a tiny fire and the Greninja being covered in Christmas lights.
Most others in the comments section seem to have gotten the right idea, it's meant to be a little risque but overall just silly, psuedo-dark humor. You see similar jokes fairly commonly in popular anime series like Kill la Kill.

Alright, I understand now, thanks for explaining. And yes I have seen Kill la Kill and thoroughly enjoyed it - the only difference being that I expected the anime to go the way that it did, and that I knew from the beginning that it was going to have the risque overall silly borderline nudity/pseudo-dark humor in it. I was honestly not expecting this so, naturally, it caught me off guard.

ah, were you a part of PMDE by any chance? PMDE had a lot of stuff that makes this look quite tame. The only reason I'm so confident about making this kind of joke is because I expect people who know about this group's legacy to have previous experience with PMDE and the more mature themes found there.

Ah I see. I was a part of PMD-E, however I was blissfully unaware of the more mature themes until I stumbled across some images/explainings on Tumblr (such as the Shroomsworth and Merlot shenanigans). Technically speaking the themes from PMD-E flew over my head up until Mission 8, when some people found half their team in the past and half their team in the present. I do understand where the humor is coming from now though so there's a low chance that I'll get caught off-guard again
