I don't know why people are getting all freaked out by this.
First, it's STUNNING WORK! I mean, look at the third panel like mmmmm
Second, THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE THAT! It's torture to get them to TALK.
They are suppose to be tied up in ways that they don't like, they're supposed to be TORTURED!

Personally, this doesn't bother me.Β It is what it is; silly torture; nothing that seriously crosses the line.Β Sure, there are implications, but really, there's even less tame stuff people can or will find on the net (or TV, for that matter) that dwarfs this.

I think we should all just sit back and admire the stunning proportions and perspective of the third panel. I mean look at that detail, the contrast really seems to work in favor and the lighting is perfect. Plus, this is the inside of the tower and it looks flipping awesome. I think that one panel is really a work of art in its self, just wow.
Oh yeah and also have you ever tried drawing the inside of a building before? It's HARD like...really hard. So this is just, really really amazing.

Hmm, it always helps to look around public buildings in your area. I think buildings need some kind of quick plan before drawing them in detail. I'm still amazed how you were able to draw the inside of a circular building. I think it's one of the most difficult things to master in art and you've done a really good job with it.

It's actually the 'basement' floor of the tower. There's one more floor above that where Regigigas used to sit, I guess I should have made that more clear.

Also if you notice, most people who are tortured have a form of whip used, nobodies being ignorant, it's called be mature enough to not look at thing sexually. You seem to be everywhere screamin' about how it's a bondage joke but yet it's nothing sexually explicit, nor too much for anyone to handle even if it /was/ straight up bondage. There's nothing wrong, joke or not, bondage is merely tying someone up and that's it. That's /it/. Big whoop if it is a bondage joke, and what, they added a whip? Yep. Very turned on obviously.

Nor did I say you said anyone was being turned on by it. /I/ said that in regards to why is it a big deal if it's not turning people on. And I'm going to say yes to that position being used to torture people, there's devices that have you spread your legs and some even require you to be naked to be tortured or killed. Less' not forget impalement which involves penetration. So your argument on the position is invalid, it may even be a better angle to get the whip to get at the skin and tear better.Β
Maybe it is called something, being mature like myself and not being someone to jump the gun. EVen if the artist intent was for their own way to get across the bondage joke /why/ would it matter? I feel bad for Sundance, we don't complain that call of duty is too violent and racists, we don't complain about bad people doing horrible things to other people, we don't complain about rape being horrible. but when someone we respect did something that seems sexually we all jump in and riot. its not sexually part, it not going to be a dark story, its only part of a story. it seems like a sex party, but its not. I've seen worst things we should riot like peta animal abuse, pirates (real thing), crime, and much more. Sundance, I'm sorry people are complaining about this when there nouthing to complain about

At first I didn't really see anything wrong with this: Donovan's putting on an outfit - reminds me of an anime episode where a Charizard wore something almost exactly like that for a contest - and the ninjas are tied up in goofy, uncomfortable ways. Nothing sexual.
Call me innocent, but I had to read the comments to see that there was a "problem." Fact of the matter is, younger/innocent audiences won't see all the "mature" themes, while people who are more familiar with that will see it more obviously. Even some real-world kids shows and movies have material like that in them somewhere, but no one really worries about those because it just flies right over the kids' heads.
Like, come on. This is silly torture. They're not even shown to be bruised or bleeding, they're just placed over minor instances of their natural type weaknesses.
((And to make my post a bit more relevant to the actual deviation, nice page, Sundance! Despite saying you hate interiors I think you managed this one quite well, and I like how the Greninja's just kind of chilling there with a bored look on his face. The angle of the third panel is pretty cool, too; very dramatic.))

Courage the Cowardly Dog had some dark themes itself inΒ a fewΒ of its episodes, but it was still my favorite cartoon as aΒ small kid, but I didn't even realize themΒ until MUCH later down the road. :/ So I doubt any "younger viewers" will even understand the supposedly "mature" stuff on this page (pfft--)

Nope! I remember this episode! She was a werewolf and they had their date under the full moon. But come morning she reveals that every Wednesday she turns into an annoying short man named Larry who collects stamps. And, poor Johnny, that was a Wednesday morning.
He also almost had a deer girlfriend at some point. Lost his chance with a cat burglar, too. He seems to only have a chance with the animal ladies.
