Description
The beginnings of Mephisto Pheles' badge-brooch-stabby-pin-thing from Ao no Exorcist. It's made from Magic Sculpt epoxy clay over wire.Quarter shown for scale: the badge is a little too large, but it fits on the lapel of my jacket. It's slightly domed in cross section. I'll be sculpting the red/blue fill areas separately and gluing them in after the frame is painted. It needs some more obnoxious little raised details on the spindle, and I'm not sure if I want to add knurling to the piece on top. Need better references ;__;

Wow, that looks nice. I don't know about references for the anime version of the badge, but for the manga version I can recommend the close-up you get on Rin's first cram school day, when Mephisto is in his dog shape and gives him the key (shows the upper half of it when it's hanging from his ribbon).
I think you're on the right track in making the "steel" frame and the "core" separately. I regret not doing that. x'P
