Description
I could look to my left and see the city,
or to the right and see the ocean,
but it was you I was looking for.

I thought of you today.
I often do.
I wrote your name in the sand,
because I knew I could wipe it away.
Yet, every time I erased the letters I found myself rewriting them.
So I covered it up instead.
But though I could not see it,
I knew it was there,
and I was all the worse for it.
I tried thinking of other things,
and when I was successful,
I found that I was thinking of not thinking of you.

And I could look to my left and see the city,
or to the right and see the ocean,
but it was you I was looking for.

I could write your name on every surface,
and waste away with your memories,
but at the end of the night,
I feel as empty as your promises.
I find that I must admit to myself,
that I miss you,
and though your in everything I do,
time will erase you from me.
Hopefully more convincingly than I have found my attempts to be.
