Oh boy this is the most grueling prop I've ever done. Took about 2 months to do.

It's made of half inch thick pine, paperclay and a 1 and 1/4 inch pole for the handle and arms. The blade was shaped with mostly a palm sander. I originally intended to shape it completely with a belt sander but found it too difficult so it took much longer than expected.

After that I attached the handle and arms then shaped them with a router. After that, it was time to do the hilt. Before laying down my paperclay, I found a bunch of scraps and glued them to the area so I'd use less paperclay and also make the sword lighter. Once that was all done I sealed the paperclay with Modge Podge then primed, painted and glossed.

I'm quite proud of how this turned out and it looks pretty evil if I do say so myself. It's pretty light too, about 2.5 to 3 pounds if I recall.

*Everything is all spraypainted, except for the hilt. Krylon doesn't have a dark metallic paint so what I did was mix some black acryllic paint with silver acryllic and then painted with a foam brush.
