Description Yeah, it looks like shit huh? But I'm working on it... the background is giving loads of trouble which is making me frustrated, I'm contemplating whether to keep working on it or move to the next drawing...

I love this!
I love the surreal sort of look of the person, with her reaaaally long legs. :3

Haha, yeah it's surreal alright - those legs are quite long, mostly used for looking over the top of fences and stuff.

Liked it! I'm still wondering about the story. It has to have one.

Well, the idea for this picture was actually from here: [link]

So I suppose the story is that photo - not much of a story really, although some of my other pictures have a small story about them.

Nooo - it is cool, on the contrary!
I love the color, and the weird, warped shapes!

I love the work you're sharing! Are these Prisma pencils?

Haha, thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying them! Expect more to come, I'm working at a faster pace at the moment.

Prisma you say? I've never heard of them, are they good? I use Derwent artist and studio coloured pencils, more so the artist ones because they seem to blend better than the studio - as demonstrated in the background of this picture (the outstanding and sharp bits were done studio and the well-blended bits in artist )

Prisma seems a common brand in the States.

I've only done a limited amount of traditional art as I think digital is so freaking amazing!

Love to see your stuff Chip. Keep it coming!

Ohk, I must look up some Prisma then - have you heard of Derwent pencils over there? There the most common quality ones here.

I agree, digital is fantastic! I love it! But I've been trying to do some more tradition because I find it easier to practice traditionally.

I bet it is easier to practice traditional. In any case, whatever medium keeps your creativity flowing is the way to go.

Well that's the thing, it would make more sense really to practice digitally - no need for supplies such as pencils/paints and paper/canvas, easier to erase mistakes, more ways to manipulate and take shortcuts into making something etc.

But I think with traditional, you're learning the hard way meaning learning pencil control and colours and everything like that. I also find hiding mistake (minor of course) easier to make look deliberate than on digital.

I like this image. Especially after comparing to the photo.
I like the way you have made a type of exaggerated character from the original.

Cheers man!

Actually, I might see if I can scan it in the photog. room today, I'm sick of all the dodgy pictures I'm taking... *suddenly thinks of camera*

I have taken many dodgy photographs on those two films.
I guess I am happy I got a few good photos out of them though.
Too bad the cameras are booked for the school break

Yeah it's a shame isn't it - me must have artist's block

Oh shit really!? *punches self for leaving old film camera out for Duke to break* Well, perhaps I'll have to try and book one for the first weekend back, although it is my birthday that weekend... won't have much time... but then again, that could be a good thing!

I suppose you could take photos while people are dressed up.
That is if you feel like it on your b-day party.

True, I dunno if it will be a dress up now, just a fun little party!

As long as you have people over, it will be good.

Well, it wouldn't be much of a hoot with peepz now would it? I've been trying to make invitations but I have too much homework to do, not to mention the recession!
